Serpent Breathing, listed in game as Snake Breathing, is one of the Part 2 Breathing Styles in Project Slayers 2, and its trainer is not standing in a village square. Serpent Trainer Obari sits in a rocky alcove above the starting region, reachable only if you have already spent a point on Wall Climb. Getting there is a short trip. Getting the style is a materials grind.
Quick answer: Reach Level 25, unlock Wall Climb, carry 20 Demon Horns and 5 Beast Cores, then climb the cliffs near Bamboo Grove to find Serpent Trainer Obari.
Serpent Breathing requirements in Project Slayers 2
Finding Obari and actually training under him are two different problems. You can walk up to the NPC at any level, but the training will not start until your character meets the progression gate and holds the full material cost.
| Requirement | Amount | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Character level | 25 | General progression |
| Demon Horns | 20 | Nameless Oni in the cave past the Torii gate |
| Beast Cores | 5 | Beast Born Demons near Mistfall Harbor |
| Wall Climb | Unlocked | Skill Tree, under Character |
Wall Climb matters more here than for other styles. Obari is set into the rock face well above ground level, so without the traversal skill there is no route to him at all. Open the menu, go to Skill Tree under Character, and confirm the ability is active before you start the trip.

Both materials come from separate corners of the map, so it is worth clearing them before you make the climb rather than running the route twice.
Demon Horns
Spawn at Bamboo Grove and speak to the NPC Chaka near the Torii gate, then follow the path that leads into the cave. The nameless Oni inside are the source of Demon Horns, and you need 20 of them, so expect several passes through the cave.

Beast Cores
Beast Cores drop from Beast Born Demons out toward Mistfall Harbor. A horse cuts the travel time down noticeably, since the ride across the map is the slowest part of the whole process. Five cores clears the requirement.
There is also a civilian quest available from the NPC Kazu at Windy Peak that asks you to defeat four spy NPCs named Civilian, which is worth picking up while you are in the area.

Serpent Trainer Obari location and climbing route
The trainer sits in the stone cliffs that overlook the starting region, with Windy Peak and Bamboo Grove as the two landmarks that frame the route. The distance is short. Almost all of the effort is vertical.

If you reach the upper plateau and see nothing, do not assume you are in the wrong place. Sweep the rock face from a couple of different heights, because the alcove is invisible from directly above. From the ledge itself, you can drop straight back down to the spawn area below, which makes the return trip fast once you know the route.

How to confirm you found the trainer
You have the right NPC when the nameplate reads Serpent Trainer Obari and a Chat interaction prompt appears as you step onto the ledge. That prompt is the only confirmation you need that the route was correct.
Once you talk to him, the training itself runs through the trainer’s own quest chain, which includes Butterfly Mansion training and beating his trainee. Completing that chain is what actually puts Snake Breathing on your character, not simply reaching the alcove.
Serpent King Obari boss drops
Separate from the trainer is Serpent King Obari, the boss version tied to the same style. He is worth noting because his loot table covers the cosmetic and weapon side of a Serpent build.

Serpent Breathing moveset and keybinds
The style copies the movement of a snake. Attacks bend and curve rather than travelling straight, and users visualise white serpents that trail the blade through each technique. Its sword color is Lavender, and the in-game effects render white rather than the light purple seen in the anime.
| Key | Move | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Z | Winding Serpent | Leaping serpent strike, then curved follow-ups |
| X | Venom Fangs | Forward flurry of slashes |
| C | Coil Choke | AoE around you, hits multiple targets |
| V | Twin-headed Serpent | Dash with two staggered arc attacks |
| B | Slithering Serpent | Twisting charge through several targets |
The move names above are unofficial community labels. The passive is the part that shapes how the kit plays, because most of the movesets only fully activate after you have landed a hit on an enemy first. Whiff the opener and the moves degrade, with Z sending the serpent into the ground, C turning into a single upward slash, and V and B collapsing into a plain dash.
Serpent Breathing was the first Part 2 Breathing Style to be announced, and much of what has been shown comes from closed-beta builds, so individual move behaviour can shift between updates.
The practical order is straightforward. Hit 25, put a point into Wall Climb, clear the Oni cave and the Mistfall Harbor demons until you have 20 Demon Horns and 5 Beast Cores, and only then make the climb. Arriving at the alcove with an empty bag just means a second trip up the same cliff.
