Ignitis (Forest Form) is the green, spore-covered variant of the Dark assassin bug, and it does not simply wander into view like most wild Aniimo. It has a single spawn point in The Mistwoods, it only shows up after dark, and it will not appear at all until you provoke it by attacking its smaller relatives while wearing the face of one of its own.

Quick answer: Catch a Basic Form Ignitis in Berylline Vale at night, twine with it, then defeat six Forest Form Wisptis in The Mistwoods. A wild Ignitis (Forest Form) spawns nearby for you to catch.

What you need before the Forest Form will spawn

The trigger has a short checklist, and skipping any part of it means the wild Forest Form never appears.

  • A caught Ignitis (Basic Form) that you can twine with and control.
  • Nighttime in Breezy Plains, since both Ignitis forms only surface after dark.
  • Access to The Mistwoods, in the northern part of the region around -1007, 1354.
  • Anipods in your bag for the capture attempt.

Catch a Basic Form Ignitis in Berylline Vale at night

Set the time of day to night and travel to Berylline Vale. In the open world, Ignitis turns up as an Alpha near the southern end of the vale, so check the map marker before you commit to a route.

If the Alpha is not cooperating, hunt Wisptis instead. Wild Wisptis roam the grassy hills at night around -0720, 1368, and a captured one can reveal itself as No.041 Ignitis (Basic Form) once the Anipod closes.

Breaking an Aniimo before you throw raises your odds, and both Break and backstab apply a ×1.5 multiplier to the catch chance.

Trigger the Ignitis (Forest Form) spawn in The Mistwoods

Head to the northern stretch of The Mistwoods at night and find the group of Wisptis milling around -1007, 1354. These need to be Forest Form Wisptis, the green variant, not the standard ones you caught in Berylline Vale.

Twine with your Ignitis so you are fighting in its form. The kills only count toward the trigger while you are the one wearing the Ignitis body, which is the part most players get wrong on their first attempt.
Defeat six Forest Form Wisptis in the area. They sit in the low 40s in level, so an Ignitis around Lv. 45 clears the group quickly with basic attacks and Scythe Dance.

Watch for the system message reading “Ignitis has appeared nearby to protect Wisptis!” That line is the confirmation that the trigger fired, and a wild Ignitis (Forest Form) drops in close by.
Dismount, fight it down, and throw an Anipod. The base catch chance on a wild Forest Ignitis is 25%, so bring spares and break it first.

How to confirm you got the Forest Form

The capture screen names the Aniimo outright. A successful throw reads No.041 Ignitis (Forest Form), with the Dark and Grass element icons sitting side by side instead of Dark alone.

Open your Aniimo menu afterwards and the new entry appears alongside the basic Ignitis. Twining with it swaps you into the green, spore-dusted model, which keeps the same Cloak mobility skill and Fly Lv.2 pathfinding.

Evolution route: raise a Forest Wisptis instead

You do not have to catch the wild one. A Forest Form Wisptis evolves into Forest Ignitis, but the evolution has its own conditions rather than a simple level gate.

Wisptis

  • Your Forest Wisptis must reach Lv. 29.
  • Take down three Wisptis in a row that share your form.
  • Stand in The Mistwoods or Blitzwood when you do it.
  • Pay the evolution cost of Night Stone x3.

Once it is yours, the Forest Form plays like the Dark original with a green coat of paint. It carries the Battle Fervor trait, which stacks a 25% damage buff twice off kills, and it swaps Scythe Dance for Forest Whirl if you want the Grass damage instead of Dark. Its Cloak and Fly Lv.2 make it a useful traversal pick even when it is not in your combat lineup.
