Respeccing in WoW Forever wipes your spent talent points so you can rebuild a character from scratch. Whether you misplaced a point, want to swap specs, or your build took a balance hit, the reset always runs through one place: a class trainer that matches your class.
Quick answer: Visit the class trainer for your class in your race’s capital city, talk to them, and choose “I wish to unlearn my class or legacy talents.”

Reset your talents at a class trainer
There is no talent menu button for this. You have to physically travel to a trainer, and it has to be a trainer for your own class. A Warrior trainer cannot unlearn a Mage’s talents.
Some races have extra options beyond the standard capital. A Forsaken Paladin, for example, can use the trainers in the Undercity or head to their own fortress, Bandarion Keep, which also houses a trainer.

Each capital only trains the classes that canonically belong to its races. If you are a Forsaken Paladin, don’t waste a flight to Orgrimmar or Thunder Bluff looking for a trainer. Use the table below to find where your class is covered.
| Capital city | Classes trained there |
|---|---|
| Orgrimmar | Warrior, Hunter, Mage, Rogue, Warlock, Shaman, Priest |
| Thunder Bluff | Warrior, Hunter, Druid, Shaman |
| Undercity | Warrior, Mage, Rogue, Priest, Warlock, Paladin |
| Stormwind City | Warrior, Hunter, Mage, Rogue, Priest, Warlock, Paladin, Shaman |
| Ironforge | Warrior, Hunter, Mage, Rogue, Priest, Warlock, Paladin, Shaman |
| Darnassus | Warrior, Hunter, Rogue, Priest, Druid |
You’ll know the reset worked when your talent trees empty out and your available points return, letting you start allocating from zero.
What a talent respec costs
Resetting talents is not free, and the price climbs each time you do it. The cost follows the familiar vanilla and Classic structure. Your first respec is cheap, but repeat resets ramp up fast until they hit a ceiling.
- First respec: 1 gold
- Second respec: 5 gold
- Cost continues rising per reset up to a cap of 50 gold
That 50 gold cap is a serious sum, so plan your points before you commit rather than swapping builds on a whim. These values could shift during development, but they reflect how respec pricing currently works.

Resetting Legacy points
The same class trainer also handles your Legacy talents, the account-wide perks you earn by unlocking Legacy Points across the world. That is why the dialogue option covers both class and legacy talents in one line.
A Legacy respec currently costs 10 gold. It is not yet confirmed whether that price stays flat or scales up like talent resets, so treat it as a moving figure for now.
Should you respec during the beta?
The beta lasts roughly a month and only includes progression through level 30 content, leaving little reason to spend gold on repeated resets. Allocate each point deliberately and you can finish the available content without respeccing.
Dual Specializations are expected to arrive down the line, letting you switch between two saved builds, though buying that convenience will likely carry its own cost. Until then, if you’re sitting on spare gold with nothing to spend it on, a respec is a perfectly reasonable way to experiment.
