The Cult of the Damned is an early quest handed out around Brill in WoW Forever, sending you against the necromancers and spellcasters who serve Kel’thuzad. It sits alongside a companion quest called Remnants of War, and both can be finished in the same trip without doubling back.
Quick answer: Take the quest from Hadric Harlson, kill 8 Dark Neophytes and 8 Dark Enforcers in the hills east of Undercity, then return to Hadric to claim the XP reward.
Where to start The Cult of the Damned
While questing near Brill, you are pointed toward Hadric Harlson at roughly the coordinates (66.3, 63.0). He gives out two quests at once, The Cult of the Damned and Remnants of War, so pick up both before you move out.
The target enemies gather in the hills to the east of Undercity, not far from the city itself. Aim to be around level 11-12 before engaging, because these mobs deal heavy damage for the zone.

Dark Enforcers are the more common of the two, so the Dark Neophytes are usually the bottleneck. If several players are farming the same spot, expect to wait a few minutes for the Neophytes to respawn.
How to beat the Dark Neophytes and Dark Enforcers
Both enemy types punish slow openings, so lead with any control you have. The key is to shut down the caster damage early and blunt the melee threat with a stun.
- Interrupt the Dark Neophyte’s Shadow Bolt to stop its ranged damage.
- Stun Dark Enforcers at the start of the fight to fit in as much damage as possible.
- The Dark Enforcer’s Shadow attack cannot be interrupted, so rely on the opening stun instead.
Pull one enemy at a time where you can. Because both types hit hard, stacking multiple casters and melee on you at once is the fastest way to die.
Finish Remnants of War in the same run
Remnants of War asks you to gather Necrotic Crystal Fragments, and it is the easier of the two quests. The Cult of the Damned mobs drop these fragments now and then, but you will also see plenty of the dark green and black crystals sticking straight out of the ground.
Because the crystals are plentiful, clear them as you kill your quota of enemies rather than making a separate trip. That way both objectives fill up together.
Turn in and rewards
Once you have all 8 Dark Neophytes, all 8 Dark Enforcers, and your Necrotic Crystal Fragments, head back to Hadric Harlson. Handing in both quests grants your XP reward and confirms completion when the quest entries clear from your log.
Turning these in also opens the follow-up quest, Bandarion Keep, which sends you far to the west. That area sits near Shadowvale, and Forsaken Paladins will likely recognize the location from earlier in their journey.
