Silent Hill: Townfall drops Simon Ordell into St. Amelia, a fog-bound coastal town modeled on Scotland, where progress comes from solving puzzles, avoiding or fighting monsters, and slowly reconstructing what happened. If you are trying to gauge the time commitment before you start, the length depends heavily on your difficulty settings and how much you want to see.
Quick answer: Most players finish the main story in 12 to 14 hours and reach at least one of the game’s five endings. Seeing everything, including the two New Game Plus endings, takes at least 25 to 30 hours.

Main story length for Silent Hill: Townfall
A first playthrough runs about 12 to 14 hours for the average player, landing you on credits and one ending. Preview estimates put the range slightly wider at 10 to 14 hours, which is close to 2025’s Silent Hill f. Your pace hinges on how quickly you solve puzzles and how much of the town you explore.
Two separate settings change how long a run takes. The main Difficulty controls combat and stealth, while Puzzle Difficulty controls how much help you get with the game’s environmental puzzles.
Difficulty settings that affect playtime
- Story Mode — Fewer enemies, with less health and lower damage.
- Normal — The intended balance of combat and stealth.
- Nightmare — More enemies with higher health and damage; they can also spot your flashlight in dark areas.
Puzzle Difficulty options
There are two puzzle settings. Hinted feeds you extra clues, which speeds things up, while Normal gives no hints and will noticeably stretch your total time as you work solutions out yourself.

The game is split into six Parts rather than traditional chapters, and each one shifts the character you control. The names themselves hint at the structure, so treat the list below as light spoiler territory.
| Part | Title |
|---|---|
| Part 1 | Arrival |
| Part 2 | Zoe |
| Part 3 | The Patient |
| Part 4 | Clara Woods |
| Part 5 | Richard |
| Part 6 | Simon |
Endings and 100% completion time
Townfall has five endings in total. Three are main endings, and all three can be reached during a single first playthrough because there is no fixed “A or B” choice that locks you into one result. Subtle actions across the run shape which one you get. The remaining two are secret endings that require a New Game Plus run.
Because two endings sit behind New Game Plus, seeing every ending means at least five playthroughs. Later runs are much faster than the first once you know the puzzles and routes, so full completion sits around 25 to 30 hours minimum. If you refuse to look up puzzle solutions and work everything out yourself, expect closer to 40 to 50 hours to collect everything and clear all endings.
Because subsequent playthroughs run significantly faster, save the secret New Game Plus endings for after your first full clear, when you can move through the story quickly.

How Townfall compares to other Silent Hill games
A 10 to 14 hour main story places Townfall in the middle of the series. It is longer than shorter entries and much shorter than the 2024 Silent Hill 2 remake, while its five endings give repeat runs a clear purpose.
| Game | Main story length |
|---|---|
| Silent Hill 3 (2003) | 6 hours |
| Silent Hill 4: The Room (2004) | 9 hours |
| Silent Hill: The Short Message (2024) | 2 hours |
| Silent Hill 2 Remake (2024) | 18 hours |
| Silent Hill f (2025) | 14 hours |
| Silent Hill: Townfall (2026) | 10–14 hours |
Those main-story figures cover a single clean run and do not include collectibles or extra endings. Silent Hill: Townfall launches September 24, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam, so a full completionist push across its Parts and five endings will add well beyond the initial estimate.
