Me Brother, Nipsy in WoW Classic: Full Quest Guide

Me Brother, Nipsy is a short Alliance delivery quest that lives entirely inside the Deeprun Tram, the underground line connecting Ironforge and Stormwind. There is no combat, no escort, and nothing to loot along the way. You take a crate of live rats from one dwarf, ride the tram, and hand it to his brother on the other end.

Quick answer: Finish Deeprun Rat Roundup for Monty, accept Me Brother, Nipsy, ride the tram to the Stormwind side, and give the Carton of Mystery Meat to Nipsy inside the depot.

Requirements for Me Brother, Nipsy

The quest will not appear on Monty until one specific condition is met, and a handful of other details decide whether it shows up in your log at all.

Alliance only, open to human, dwarf, night elf, and gnome characters.
You must first complete Deeprun Rat Roundup, the preceding quest from the same NPC.
In Classic the quest is level 12 and requires level 10; players have picked it up as early as level 11.
In modern WoW there is no practical level gate, and it counts toward Loremaster of Eastern Kingdoms.
The quest is not sharable, so every player in your group has to grab it from Monty individually.

After you turn in Deeprun Rat Roundup, Monty plays a brief animation. Wait for it to finish before expecting the follow-up to appear, otherwise it can look like the quest is missing.

How to deliver the Carton of Mystery Meat to Nipsy

Talk to Monty in the Deeprun Tram station and accept Me Brother, Nipsy. He hands you the Carton of Mystery Meat automatically, so there is nothing to farm or buy first. Check your bags to confirm the crate is there before moving on.

Walk down to the tram tracks and wait for the next car to pull in. The tram runs on a fixed loop, so the only cost here is a short wait on the platform.

Step aboard once the tram stops and stay on it. You do not need to click anything during transit, and the tram cannot be missed or boarded incorrectly as long as you are standing inside the car when it departs.

The ride takes roughly a minute and a half and passes through the glass tunnel under the sea. Nothing on the route can attack you, which is why most players spend the trip sorting bags, inspecting other passengers, or just watching the scenery go by.

Jump off when the tram halts at the far platform and look for Nipsy. He stands inside the depot itself, in the area between the two tram tracks, not out in the city above. Some quest add-ons point at the wrong spot, so trust the depot floor rather than the map arrow.

Me Brother, Nipsy rewards and experience

The payout is the same item in every version of the game, with only the experience and coin changing.

Deeprun Rat Kabob is the only reward item, and there is no cooking recipe attached to it. Nipsy doubles as a vendor, so if you burn through the stack you can simply buy more kabobs from him. At max level the experience is swapped for additional coin instead.

If you started this chain from Stormwind, pick up the Ironforge flight path while you are on that side of the tram line rather than making a second trip.

Confirming the turn-in worked

You know you are talking to the right dwarf when the progress text has him poke a finger through one of the crate’s air holes:

After you complete it, the quest clears from your log, the Carton of Mystery Meat leaves your bags, and ten Deeprun Rat Kabob appear in its place along with the experience gain in your chat window. If you want a hard check later, run this macro or slash command and look for a true result:
