Beyond the Nichirin katanas every Slayer starts with, Slayers 2 hides five weapons with their own movesets, stat lines, and animation sets. Each one sits behind a different system, so the fastest way to collect them is to know exactly which chest, boss, vendor, or quest hands it over before you start grinding.
Quick answer: Four of the five come from farming: Rare Chests, Sealed Caches, the Stone Trainee boss, and a schematic from the Lost Slayer. The Gauntlet is the sole purchase, available through the Black Market during even hours.
All five secret Slayer weapons and their sources
| Weapon | Rarity | Source | Rate |
|---|---|---|---|
| Spear | Epic | Rare Chest | 7% |
| Tanto | Legendary | Sealed Cache T1–T3 | 1.25%–5% |
| Gauntlet | Legendary | Black Marketer NPC | Purchase |
| Axe and Mace | Legendary | Stone Trainee boss | 7% |
| Shotgun | Legendary | Craft at Blacksmith Togane | 2.5% schematic |
Two of these are pure RNG on chest loot, two are boss farms with identical 7% odds, and one is a vendor roll on a rotating stock list. That split matters for planning, because the chest and vendor weapons can be chased at any point in your save, while the Shotgun is tied to a quest chain you can walk past permanently.

Every Slayer weapon adds three numbers to your character sheet. Additional Damage is a flat bonus, the Additional Damage Factor is a multiplier applied on top, and Block Points decide how much punishment your guard can absorb before it breaks. The Axe and Mace is the only one here that also carries a damage reduction value, at +0.85, which is why the game tags it as a Tank class item.

| Weapon | Added damage | Damage factor | Block points |
|---|---|---|---|
| Spear | +1 | 1.02x | +1.35 |
| Tanto | +2 | 1.04x | +2.85 |
| Gauntlet | +2 | 1.04x | +2.55 |
| Axe and Mace | +2.2 | 1.04x | +1.5 |
| Shotgun | +22 | 1.04x | +2.7 |
All five also replace your basic M1 string with custom animations, and a few come with visual tells — the Axe and Mace leaves a burning trail on the ground while you run with it equipped.

Skills are unlocked through mastery, so a freshly dropped Legendary will feel empty until you have used it enough to open its slots.
| Weapon | Skills |
|---|---|
| Spear | Storm Rush, Storm Piercer |
| Tanto | The three skills are Phantom Barrage, Spiral Fang, and Tanto Descent. |
| Gauntlet | Its set includes Flash Fist, Shatter Step, and Shoulder Throw. |
| Axe and Mace | None; used for Stone Breathing progression |
| Shotgun | The moves are Buck Shot, Point Blank, and Shellshock Frenzy. |
Spear: farm Rare Chests on a boss loop
The Spear is the only Epic on the list and the cheapest entry point. It has a long reach, a leaping Z attack in Storm Rush, and a Storm Piercer on X that can also be held for a second version of the thrust.

It drops from any Rare Chest at a 7% rate. Those chests are tied to boss clears around the map, so the loop is simply to pick a boss you can kill quickly and repeat it. Hoyuzo, The Sickle Reaper, works well — the fight sits in the cave below the Mother Bear area, and the chest is right there with it.

Keep inventory space free before you start a chest farm, so a drop never fails to land in a full bag.
Tanto: only Tier 3 Sealed Caches are worth the time
The Tanto is a short Nichirin built for close range, with a chargeable Phantom Barrage on Z, a Spiral Fang on X that can be held into a follow-up, and Tanto Descent on C, which throws a dagger and opens a combo if it connects. It comes out of Sealed Caches, and the tier of the cache is the whole story.
| Cache tier | Area | Tanto chance |
|---|---|---|
| T3 | Snow area | 5% |
| T2 | Butterfly Estate | 2.5% |
| T1 | Scattered across the map | 1.25% |
A T3 cache in the snow region is four times more likely to give the Tanto than a T1, so route around the snow line rather than cracking whatever cache you stumble into. Caches also appear as rewards for clearing Raid Captains and the enemies guarding them. If the drops are not coming, check the tier label on the chest UI before assuming bad luck — leftover T1 caches sit on the same routes as higher tiers.
Axe and Mace: kill the Stone Trainee at Stone Sanctuary
This one behaves differently from the rest. The chained axe and mace has no weapon skills of its own, because it exists to carry Stone Breathing progression. What it does bring is a Tank stat line, custom M1 attacks, and the scorched trail effect while moving.
Gauntlet: catch the Black Market on an even hour
Only the Gauntlet cannot be obtained through farming. The Black Marketer stocks it, while the Black Market appears at XX:00 only during even hours with a randomized inventory. You therefore wait both for the vendor to spawn and for the Gauntlet to appear in that cycle’s stock. Instead of checking the map at random, look when the next even hour begins.
Once you own it, the kit is built around grabs and openings. Flash Fist is a rapid barrage that flows into your M1 string, Shatter Step has a follow-up aerial version on a second press, and Shoulder Throw tosses the target and leaves them open for a free combo. All three come from mastery, so the gauntlets feel bare the moment you buy them.

Shotgun: farm the Lost Slayer before you finish Final Selection
The Shotgun carries by far the biggest stat line at +22 Additional Damage, and its kit is unusual for a Demon Slayer game — Buck Shot fires and flows into M1s, Point Blank is a close-range hold, and Shellshock Frenzy either charges up or drops a delayed bomb depending on whether you hold or tap C. It is also the easiest weapon in the game to lose access to, because the boss that drops its schematic lives inside Final Selection.
The underwater area may no longer be reachable once Final Selection is complete. Farm the schematic while you are still inside the trial, not after.

How to confirm a drop or craft worked
Chest and boss drops land straight in your inventory with their rarity tag attached, so the check is simple. Open the inventory, look for the weapon name and its Epic or Legendary label, and equip it — the character model visibly swaps to the Spear, Tanto, gauntlets, chained axe and mace, or Shotgun. For the crafted Shotgun, the Togane recipe only completes when the schematic and all materials are in your bag, and the finished weapon appears in your inventory afterward.
If the weapon is in hand but the Z, X, and C slots do nothing, nothing has gone wrong — mastery has not built up yet. Use the weapon in ordinary combat and the skills open as its mastery level climbs.
If you are collecting all five, order matters more than raw grind time. Secure the Shotgun schematic while Final Selection is still open, keep the Stone Sanctuary trip bundled with your Stone Breathing work, run Rare Chests and snow-region caches on whatever boss loop you are already clearing, and treat the Gauntlet as an even-hour errand you check in on rather than a farm.
