Project Slayers 2: How to Get Nightfall and Firstlight Items Fast

The 5% Ouwigahara chest route, the 3% world boss rotation, and how Luck boosts affect both.

The 5% Ouwigahara chest route, the 3% world boss rotation, and how Luck boosts affect both.

Nightfall and Firstlight items are the gate between a finished V2 weapon and the endgame version of it in Slayers 2, and they only come from two places. A recent patch cut the material cost of upgrading them, which makes stockpiling drops far more valuable than it was before. Both farming routes are repeatable, and both respond to Luck boosts.

Quick answer: Buy the end-of-run chest in the Ouwigahara dungeon for 30,000 dungeon points. It carries a 5% chance at a Nightfall or Firstlight drop, the best rate available, and world bosses sit second at 3%.

Nightfall and Firstlight drop rates and sources

There are only two reliable drop sources. Everything else is noise, so plan your session around whichever one your character can clear faster.

SourceDrop chanceCost or requirement
Ouwigahara end-of-run chest5%30,000 dungeon points
World Bosses3%Defeat the boss
World Events Chests3%Spawns after a world boss dies

The dungeon chest has the better rate per attempt, but a world boss lap is faster in raw minutes and pays out twice per boss, once from the kill and once from the chest it spawns. Running both in the same session is normal.

Luck boosts apply to Nightfall and Firstlight drops

The developers have confirmed that 2x and 4x Luck boosts affect Nightfall and Firstlight drop rates from both world bosses and dungeon chests. That makes boost timing the single biggest lever you control.

Bank your dungeon points and hold off on opening chests until a Luck boost is active, then spend everything inside that window instead of trickling attempts out unboosted.

Prep: level, dungeon access, and build

Dungeon access requires roughly Level 65. If you are still short, quest NPCs carry you through the gap quickly. Wagwan near the Bamboo Grove and Mother Bear area hands out the Clear Hoyuzo’s Guard quest, which pairs well with Hoyuzo and Kasugai Crow missions up to level 75.

Slayers can continue from Mistfall Harbor down the cliff to Demon Slayer Goro for the Thin them out quest at level 75, then grind Lesser Demons and Soryu Trainee Goki. Demons use Demon Mokuro for the equivalent route.

For clearing bosses and dungeon floors quickly, the setups that hold up best in PvE are:

  • Demons: Sickles paired with Blood Manipulation or Akaza.
  • Slayers: Water Breathing or Serpent Breathing.
  • Either side: a mobility skill, since several boss spots involve cliffs and water.

Ouwigahara dungeon chest route (5% chance)

Unlock the dungeon if you have not already. Talk to Blacksmith Togane in the Hidden Mist Village and take the Your other forge quest, which needs level 65.
Travel to the teleport portal across the bridge near Mistfall Harbor and the Forgotten Ruins. Follow the road past Rengoku and through the torii gates to reach the Ouwigahara queue area.
Start a run and push floors for points. Prioritise permanent damage cards, point multipliers and max health cards, and skip negative modifiers such as Grounded or No Guard so your run does not stall out early.
Spend 30,000 points on the end-of-run chest. This is the 5% roll. Each additional 30,000 points is another attempt, so a deeper run directly means more chest openings.

Dungeon points reset after every match. Anything you do not spend before the run ends is gone, so never leave a partial balance sitting unused.

The same 30,000-point price also buys Mythic Refinement Ore from the Changer Zeni vendor, which is what you need for V2 crafting. Decide before the run whether that session is a drop-hunting session or an ore session.

World boss rotation route (3% chance)

The boss lap works because kills are short. With a strong PvE build, several of these bosses go down in about thirty seconds, and each one leaves a World Events Chest behind.

Start with Yahari, the Arrow boss. Open with your highest damage combo and burn the health bar down before it repositions.

Open the World Events Chest that spawns after the kill. This is a second roll on the same 3% pool, separate from the boss drop itself.

Move to Sumari, the Temari boss, then Giyen. Clear each one and loot its chest before teleporting on.
Head to the Bamboo Grove for Reaper, then finish the lap on Sanemi. Both drop Brave Souls and Ore alongside the chest roll.
Open your map, check the boss icons, and restart the lap from whichever boss has respawned first. Demons can consume the Brave Souls collected along the way for demon progression rather than letting them pile up.

Susamaru and Yahaba are worth folding into the same circuit when they are up, since the route also feeds you coin bags and general crafting materials. Selling surplus loot to Merchant Ginzo at Mistfall Harbor converts it into Metal Scraps and Silk Thread for the V2 recipes.

Schematics are not drops: where each one is found

Farming chests will never hand you a schematic. Every Nightfall and Firstlight weapon has a fixed location or puzzle, and you only need to collect each one once. Grab the quick ones while you wait for boss respawns.

SchematicWhere to get it
Nightfall KatanaUnderwater cavern beneath the Mistfall Harbor waterfall
Nightfall Serpent KatanaSerpent Keys found underwater, used on the Serpent Box
Nightfall Axe and MaceMountain-top temple above Hidden Mist Village
Nightfall ScytheCave under the Wind Trainer platform, Snow Village
Nightfall GauntletsThree statues, 100 hits each, then Stonemason Tobei
Nightfall ClawsUnderwater below the Yeti area near Butterfly Estate
Nightfall Sickles10 levers in one server, then the drainage pipe
Firstlight Sound CleaversDefeat Duelist Hibiki past the Frost Veil ice cave
Firstlight Katana and SpearHidden underwater shaft near the Ice Village Wind Trainer
Firstlight Insect KatanaSubmerged hole by a fallen log near Shinobu

The Nightfall Katana is the fastest of the set. Run from the Mistfall Harbor shrine toward the docks, drop into the water beside the waterfall, swim through the submerged passage, climb the wall inside the cavern and study the katana on the platform.

The Sickles are the longest job by a wide margin. All ten levers must be pulled in a single server session, spread across Hidden Mist Village, Windy Peak, Snow Village, the Bamboo Grove and Butterfly Estate, before the drainage pipe under the bridge opens. Save that one for a session where you are not juggling boss timers.

How to confirm a drop landed

A successful Nightfall or Firstlight item shows up in your inventory immediately after the chest opens or the boss dies, listed with the rest of your materials. Schematics land in a different place, under the Schematics tab in the inventory menu, so check there rather than your weapons list after studying a shrine or altar.

Once you have the schematic and enough Nightfall or Firstlight material, the upgrade is handled at the blacksmith alongside your existing V2 weapon. With the reduced material costs, a boosted dungeon session plus one full boss lap is usually enough to finish a weapon that would previously have taken several evenings.
