Russet Highlands sits in the northeastern corner of Idyll, a stretch of red-stained rock, canyons, and stone pillars where 22 different Aniimo roam. Many are locked behind weather, time of day, quests, or puzzles, so bringing an Aniimo that flies and climbs well makes reaching the higher spawns far easier. The region is tuned for characters around level 45 to 50.

Aniimo you can catch anytime
Most of the region’s roster spawns with no special setup. Basic Helmut covers a wide stretch of ground and is the most common sight, gathering near the Rainbow Woods fast travel point and the First Sight Sanctum. Rookey holds an arena east of the same Sanctum, while Jawling floods the central and eastern reaches. Helmwhelp shares that central plateau near the Jawlings, and both Helgon and its Mountain Form circle above the stone pillars, each clutching a Jawling.
The region’s southern and eastern lowlands are home to Highland-form Aniimo. Emberpup and Flameruff cluster around the Vigilant Eyes Sanctum and the route leading to Zephyrus Landbridge. Iris appears in the lowland north of the Twister Peaks fast travel point, with Chirpi flying above the nearby pillars. Irisal is also possible in that lowland zone, though it is rare; if needed, reset the zone by traveling away and returning.
Snowfield forms that need snowy weather
Four Aniimo only surface while snow is falling in Russet Highlands. Change the weather to snow before you head out, or these spots will show nothing.
- Helmut (Snowfield Form) — near the Rainbow Woods teleporter and First Sight Sanctum, concentrated in the woods at -0603, 1619.
- Baleetle (Snowfield Form) — just north of the Vigilant Eyes Sanctum at -0026, 1854.
- Waleetle (Snowfield Form) — a clearing northeast of the Vigilant Eyes Sanctum at -0000, 1844.
Rookey (Snowfield Form) hides inside the snowballs just north of the First Sight Sanctum at -0561, 1646. Bring a fire-type Aniimo and melt the snowballs to force it into the open before you catch it.
Sparki, the nighttime spawn
Sparki (Highland Form) has a nighttime spawn at -0585, 1480, in the forests and grasslands by the Rainbow Woods fast travel point. Rest at a Pathfinder camp to change the time to night, then head back to the marked location.
Mountain Woods forms from the golden helmet quest
Finish the Secret of the Golden Helmet quest to unlock both Mountain Woods forms. They then appear together at -0585, 1529, south of the First Sight Sanctum, where a golden Rookey stands within a Helmut group.
Helmut (Mountain Woods Form) is a Dark-element Breaker with a shiny golden helmet, and it can later evolve into Pawney or Rookey once it reaches level 45 and meets its evolution steps. The matching Rookey (Mountain Woods Form) shares the same clearing.
Puzzle and egg-locked spawns
Three regional forms need a puzzle or a collection task before they will appear.
Jawling (Mountain Form)
Head directly north of the First Sight Sanctum to the stone puzzle area around -0509, 1791. A Mountain Jawling is trapped in an underground prison there; solve the puzzle to spawn Mountain Jawlings roaming the vicinity.
Helmwhelp (Mountain Form)
Climb the stone pillar platform at -0337, 1868 and solve the chest puzzle at the top, defeating the Helmwhelp that guards it. Mountain Helmwhelps then start spawning in a clearing just west, near -0368, 1866. A Helgon makes reaching the pillar much easier.
Tubster (Highland Form)
Tubster only appears after you collect 3 incredible eggs scattered across Russet Highlands. The eggs sit at (-0637, 1452), (-0263, 1637), and (-0599, 1603). Once all three are gathered, Tubster spawns on top of a stone pillar at -1013, 1873, surrounded by Chirpis.
Pawney (Prismana Form) and the Prismana Flow
The rarest catch here is Pawney’s Prismana Form, which requires a Prismana Flow. Fill the region’s Prismatic Energy by using Nurture around the south side of Rainbow Woods. When a Prismana Aniimo spawns, a map marker appears automatically to point you to it.
Confirming a successful catch
A capture registers when the caught Aniimo is added to your Aniilog, updating your discovery count. If a conditional spawn point looks empty, check that its requirement is active first: snowy forms vanish once the weather clears, Sparki only shows at night, and the Mountain Woods forms simply will not exist until the Secret of the Golden Helmet quest is complete. Clearing all 22 also puts you next to the region’s two field bosses, Alpha Rookey and Omega Infergon, for the rest of your Russet Highlands run.
