How to Find the Razor Hill Rogue Trainer Kaplak in World of Warcraft

The rogue trainer for Horde characters starting in Durotar is an orc named Kaplak, stationed in the settlement of Razor Hill. He teaches new rogue abilities and higher ranks of skills you already know, and unlike the trainer back in the Valley of Trials, he is not limited to low-level abilities.

Quick answer: Enter the central bunker in the middle of Razor Hill, take the wooden staircase inside to the roof, and talk to Kaplak <Rogue Trainer> on the upper platform next to Gar’Thok.

Where Razor Hill sits in Durotar

Razor Hill is the main town in central Durotar, positioned north of Sen’jin Village and south of the road that leads into the Barrens. If you are leaving the Valley of Trials, Razor Hill is the first proper settlement you reach heading north and east.

Open your world map once you arrive to confirm your marker is inside the town before you start looking for the building.

How to reach Kaplak

Move to the center of Razor Hill and locate the main fortified bunker, a stone and timber structure with spiked defenses. This is the building that also houses the quest giver Gar’Thok and Pet Trainer Harruk.

Use the front doorway on the ground floor, then immediately face the wooden staircase and climb toward the roof.

Step out onto the upper platform. Kaplak stands here alongside Gar’Thok, who is easy to spot by the yellow quest marker above his head.

Target Kaplak <Rogue Trainer> and open his dialogue. Choose the option to train your skills to bring up the training window.

Do not confuse this bunker with the Razor Hill Barracks, the large fortress with a circular interior room. The Barracks holds the shaman, priest, hunter and first aid trainers, but not the rogue trainer.

Confirming you found the right trainer

You know you are in the correct spot when the training window opens with rogue abilities such as Stealth, Pick Pocket, Eviscerate and Gouge listed for purchase. When you learn a skill, your character shows a brief golden light effect and Kaplak reacts with a short grunt.

While you are on the platform, it is worth speaking to Gar’Thok to pick up available quests such as Vanquish the Betrayers before you head back down the stairs.

Kaplak remains a recurring figure across later chapters of World of Warcraft, appearing in the Hall of Shadows and the Obsidian Bulwark in the Waking Shores, but for early Durotar leveling he stays right here on the bunker roof in Razor Hill.
