The West Incursion Zone taxi is usually the first anomalous cab you run into during The Last Taxi side story in Control Resonant. Entering it drops Dylan into a foggy, looping street where a phone call and a set of misbehaving streetlights decide which vehicle carries him deeper toward the caller trapped in the threshold.

Quick answer: After answering the phone, ride the taxi under the flashing streetlight, then the taxi under the only steady (non-flashing) streetlight, then the taxi under the streetlight that blinks out of sync with the rest.

You’ll find this cab in a compact lot behind the Empire cinema, near the subway line leading toward the West Incursion Zone Resonant. You need the gravity-shifting traversal from the ‘The Incursion Fault’ mission to reach it, so finish that mission first.

Work your way toward the Empire cinema near the subway you use to reach the theater. The parking area is tucked behind it rather than on the direct path.

Use the Shift ability to change gravity and pull yourself into the carpark. Depending on the altered orientation of the area, the taxi may end up above you.

If you cannot spot the cab, listen for its horn. The sound points you to it even when it is on a surface you are not standing on.

Interacting with the taxi pulls Dylan into the threshold, a yellow-fogged version of the city that resets into repeating street loops until you pick the correct vehicle each time.

Streetlight puzzle solution for the West Incursion Zone taxi

At each threshold, start by entering the alley to the main road’s left and picking up the ringing phone; only then do the cab choices count. To identify the right option, compare the streetlights over the cabs—the vehicles themselves are irrelevant.

Find the cab under a lamp blinking in the usual pattern. Board it to move on to the next loop.

In the following loop, compare all the streetlights: while the rest blink, one remains lit without flashing. Board the cab beneath that lamp.

This time, focus on the rhythm of the lights, not whether they’re lit. Pick out the single lamp whose blinking falls out of step with the others, then board the cab below it. The right cab may be immediately to your right when the stage starts.

How to confirm each correct taxi

Every time you pick the right taxi, a short scene plays showing a traffic signal gaining another green light. Treat that cutscene as confirmation that your choice was correct before the next loop starts.

After the third correct pick, the objective updates and Dylan arrives at a fractured, floating stretch of the city split across a deep chasm. That transition marks the end of this taxi’s threshold.
