Bloodblight Swamp is one of the richest mid-to-high tier farming zones in RuneScape: Dragonwilds, but it is also one of the deadliest. The moment you step into its green haze, a poison bar starts filling, and without protection it will eventually drain your health. Handled correctly, though, this is where you gather Blightwood, Silver, Gold, Sapphires, and the materials that unlock jewelry crafting and the Abyssal Whip.
Quick answer: Bring a Weak Antipoison Potion plus an Iron Pickaxe and Iron Logging Axe. The swamp yields Blightwood, Silver, Gold, Sapphires, Swamp Thread, and the Abyssal Demon’s Abyssal Spine.
Bloodblight Swamp poison and entry requirements
The swamp’s toxic mist is not optional damage you can tank for long. Entering the region automatically fills the poison debuff bar, and once it caps it starts hurting you. A Weak Antipoison Potion is the fix, brewed in a Brewing Cauldron from a Clay Vessel, Harralander, and a Bittercap Mushroom. Its protection lasts 300 seconds, so time your runs around it.
Your tools also gate what you can collect. A Bronze Pickaxe will hit gold nodes and simply return the message “You need a more powerful pickaxe!”, so an Iron Pickaxe is the minimum for gold. Bring these before you travel:
- Weak Antipoison Potion for the poison debuff (lasts 300 seconds)
- Iron Pickaxe to mine Gold and Silver nodes
- Iron Logging Axe to chop Blightwood roots and the Undead Tree
- A Vault Core spare if you plan to place a lodestone at the swamp Vault
Supplies and gear to craft before the trip
Better armor buys you room for error against the swamp’s Garou packs and the Abyssal Demon. Paladin Platelegs, a Tier 4 piece, need 6 Iron Bars, 4 Padded Cloth, and 2 Dire Wolf Leather. Padded Cloth comes off the Loom, so process your thread and cloth there first if you are short.
Pack food as well. Dwellberry Crunchies are a simple sustain item made on the Cooking Range or Grill, and they are worth stacking before a long harvesting session where the poison timer keeps you moving.
Finally, plan your route. Open the world map next to your quest list and set your travel around a lodestone near the swamp so you can fast travel back and forth without wading through poison each time.
Resources to farm in Bloodblight Swamp
The swamp is the first place many of these mid-to-high tier materials appear together. The Rocksplosion spell speeds up clearing ore boulders, and it also breaks the large rocks that block some paths.

The Undead Tree is a separate landmark. Chopping it with an axe gives a Bundle of Undead Twigs, which is a required item for the Animal Magnetism quest, so grab it while you are cutting Blightwood.
Abyssal Demon and the Abyssal Whip
The Abyssal Demon is the swamp’s mini-boss and wanders the south-east of the region near ruins. Killing it drops an Abyssal Spine, Hard Leather, and a Monstrous Fang, which are the components you need toward the Abyssal Whip. Crafting the whip also calls for Swamp Thread from the Swamp Weed plants here.
There are nearby ruins you can climb onto where the Abyssal Demon cannot reach you, giving you a safe spot to fight from.
Cook’s Assistant and Animal Magnetism quests
Cook’s Assistant
This quest asks for 4 Eggs, 6 Wheat, and 1 Bucket of Milk. Take them to the Goblin Stove next to Slopfinger and bake a cake there. Show Slopfinger the fresh cake so he signs it (with spit), then deliver the signed cake to Manktongue to close it out.
Animal Magnetism
Animal Magnetism needs three items handed to Manktongue. Completing it unlocks and awards Ava’s Accumulator, which grants +1 to Melee, Ranged, and Magic Defence and improves your chance to recover ranged ammunition.
- On a cliff face in the Stormtouched Highlands, find the Undead Chicken clinging to the rock.
- Pulpknuckle transforms a standard Iron Bar into a Magnetised Iron Bar.
- Chop the Undead Tree in Bloodblight Swamp to obtain a Bundle of Undead Twigs.
You will know each quest is done when the tracker shows “QUEST COMPLETE” after the final turn-in, and Ava’s Accumulator appears in your inventory once Animal Magnetism resolves.
Craft jewelry with Silver and Gold
The point of hauling Silver Ore and Gold Ore home is jewelry. Smelt them into Silver Bars and Gold Bars at the furnace, then build two stations in order: the Grindstone first, then the Jeweller’s Bench.

The Grindstone is a dependency, not just an extra bench. You feed Sandstone into it to produce the Ground Sandstone the Jeweller’s Bench requires. Once the bench is placed in your workshop, jewelry crafting is unlocked and you can start turning gold, silver, and gems like Sapphires into wearable items.
Place a lodestone at the swamp Vault
A fast-travel Lodestone costs 15 Stone, 20 Rune Essence, and 1 Vault Core. Setting one on a permanent platform outside the swamp Vault means every return trip skips the poison wade entirely, and you can shuttle ores back to base the moment your inventory fills.
With antipoison in hand, an Iron Pickaxe and Iron Logging Axe for the nodes and trees, the Abyssal Spine off the mini-boss, and both jewelry stations built, Bloodblight Swamp turns from a death trap into the supply line that carries you toward the endgame gear.
