Him is one of the hardest companions to add to a collection in Fisch, and the reason is simple: it was never tied to a location, a feeding task, or a quest. It arrived as a code reward during a single update, and that opportunity closed almost as quickly as it opened.
Quick answer: In Version 2.02.0, the Mariana’s Awakening update offered Him through the MarianaIsGoingCrazy code. It expired after 24 hours, and the companion is now unavailable through normal means.

This was the only intended way to unlock Him. The code is no longer active, but the process is worth knowing in case it ever returns, and the redemption flow is identical for every other Fisch code.

When Him is on the line, the game plays a distinct shimmering sound and shows a wheel symbol above your avatar. Those two cues confirm you hooked the secret fish rather than an ordinary catch.
The official companion listing records Him’s source as the code and marks it as no longer obtainable, so treat the one-in-a-million catch as an extreme long shot rather than a reliable route.
What Him does once equipped
Him’s value comes from a chance to hand you a mutated fish while it is equipped. The mutation is either a heavy penalty or a large multiplier, so the outcome swings widely.
