World of Warcraft Classic: Burning Blade Cultist Location in Skull Rock

The Burning Blade cultists you hunt for the Hidden Enemies quest are packed into a single cave in Durotar. It is called Skull Rock, and it sits close to the coast just east of Orgrimmar. Inside you will find Burning Blade Fanatics and Burning Blade Apprentices, both level 10 to 11, along with the Lieutenant’s Insignia they drop.

Skull Rock is a coastal cave in northeastern Durotar. It lies east of Orgrimmar, tucked against the shoreline a short distance from the city’s eastern walls. The Burning Blade cultists live inside this cave, so there is no need to search the open zone for scattered spawns.

Leave Orgrimmar through the eastern gate and open your world map. Line up the route toward the coast so you head straight east rather than wandering north into the canyons.

Follow the shoreline east and slightly south until the cave mouth comes into view. The entrance is already patrolled by Burning Blade mobs, so you will know you have arrived when the fighting starts.

What you fight inside Skull Rock

The cave is dense with Burning Blade enemies, and they respawn quickly. Expect near constant combat from the moment you step inside. The two cultist types that matter are the ones tied to the Lieutenant’s Insignia.

Push inward rather than lingering at the entrance. The mobs are tightly grouped, so pull only what you can handle at once and let the respawns come to you.

The respawn rate and the number of cultists make this a slow solo clear. Bringing a group lets you hold ground and roll more kills per minute.

Getting the Lieutenant’s Insignia

Both cultist types can drop the Lieutenant’s Insignia, so clear whatever you can pull safely instead of chasing one specific mob. The drop chance is roughly 1 in 20, though it can appear sooner. The item is unique and cannot stack, so a single one completes the objective.

Loot every corpse as you go. When the insignia finally drops, it appears in the loot window on the dead cultist, and your quest tracker updates to Lieutenant’s Insignia 1/1. That change confirms you have what you came for.

With the insignia in your bags, exit the cave and cross Durotar to Thrall at Orgrimmar’s Valley of Wisdom. Skull Rock contains everything needed for this step, so one uninterrupted pass through the cultists will do.
