The Axe is the most reliable melee weapon in Silent Hill: Townfall. It never breaks, and it drops most standard enemies in a single swing. The catch is that it does not exist in a first playthrough. You have to reach New Game Plus to find it, and the moment you pick it up you also unlock the Here’s Simon! trophy.
Quick answer: Finish the game once, start New Game Plus, then in Chapter 1 reach the garage east of Shore Wynd in St. Amelia’s Shorefront District – South and collect the Axe from the table. That grants the trophy instantly.
Requirements before the Axe appears
The Axe only spawns during a New Game Plus run, so a single completed playthrough is the gatekeeper. Nothing about your choices or ending changes this.
- Complete Silent Hill: Townfall at least once. Any ending works.
- Start New Game Plus from the main menu.
- No key, puzzle, or combat objective is needed to claim the weapon.
On a standard first run the table sits empty. If the Axe is not there, you are not in New Game Plus.

The pickup is early in Chapter 1, tucked inside a garage among the brick storage sheds. Follow the path from the seafront up to the alley and into the shed row.

How to confirm the trophy unlocked
The trophy fires the instant you grab the weapon. You will see the “+ Axe” item notification, and the Axe becomes usable right away with Strike and (Hold) Block shown as its controls. No follow-up kill or action is required.
Second Axe location as Zoe
There is a later chance to pick up an Axe while you are playing as Zoe. Check the left side of Mister Stewart’s backyard, near the fence. This is a useful backup if you skipped the New Game Plus garage.
Why the Axe is worth carrying
Two traits make the Axe stand out from the Plank and the Pipe. It has infinite durability, so it never breaks no matter how much you swing or block with it. It also deals enough damage to kill most ordinary enemies in one hit.
Larger, tougher creatures are the exception and will survive a single strike. Even so, using the Axe for regular fights lets you save ammunition for the encounters that actually need it, which is exactly why it earns a permanent slot in a New Game Plus run.
