Reach the CEG Employee Lockers in Part 4, scan the barcode, and enter 184 to claim the one-shot Flare Gun.

The Flare Gun is the optional firearm you can pick up during Part 4: Clara Woods in Silent Hill: Townfall. It sits inside a locked cabinet in the CEG Employee Lockers building, and reaching it means finding a barcode, scanning it for a PIN, and opening the right locker. A hit from this weapon drops a standard enemy in a single shot, so it is worth the short detour even though it is not required to finish the chapter.

Quick answer: The Flare Gun is in Locker 075 inside the CEG Employee Lockers during Chapter 10: Missing Parts. Grab the CEG Lockers barcode, scan it to reveal PIN 184, then enter that code to open the locker.

Where to find the Flare Gun in Clara Woods

The weapon is stored on the ground level of the Clara Woods Estate, inside the CEG Employee Lockers facility. You reach this area during Part 4: Clara Woods, in Chapter 10: Missing Parts, while you are searching for a way to open the gate on Atlas Way.

Starting from Atlas Square, head east toward Atlas Way, then turn north and follow Prosperity Way. Take the first available left into the CEG Staff Parking area, and continue from there into the CEG Employee Lockers building. Inside you will find the reception desk, mailroom, and the changing rooms that hold the lockers. The building also has a phone you can use to save.

The Flare Gun is entirely optional. You do not need it to solve the chapter’s main puzzle, so skipping it will not block your progress.

Locker 75 code and how to open it

You cannot open Locker 075 directly. The code is tied to a barcode receipt you collect in the same room, and a scanner reads that barcode to reveal the PIN. Work through the steps below in order.

Enter the CEG Employee Lockers facility and go behind the front desk. Pick up the green key item named Barcode (CEG Lockers), which rests on the low counter shelf next to the barcode reader. This slip is registered to Locker 75.

Interact with the Orbaum barcode reader on the same desk and scan the receipt. The screen displays “Locker – 75” and “Pin Code – 184”, giving you the combination you need.
Move through the neighboring locker rows and locate unit 075 beside the room’s rear wall, on its right-hand side. Use the three-digit combination lock, set the dials to 1, 8, and 4 in sequence, then confirm.

Open the locker to collect the Flare Gun and a Flare Cartridge. A tutorial popup confirms the pickup and explains the weapon’s firing controls, so you know the code worked when that screen appears and the gun enters your inventory.

How the Flare Gun works

The Flare Gun fires Flare Cartridges and holds only one round at a time. You aim with L2 and fire with R2, the same as the pistol, and reload with Square. A direct hit kills a standard enemy in one shot and sets it on fire, which makes it far stronger than the two-shot pistol.

Precision is the trade-off. A flare holds its course briefly after launch, then curves off to one side, making shots from nearby the dependable choice. You can instead fire one at a location to divert enemies or draw them away, rather than trying to kill them.

Flare Cartridges are much harder to come by than regular pistol ammunition. Because the supply is limited, hold the Flare Gun for moments when an instant kill matters most, such as when you are cornered or being chased, and lean on melee and the pistol the rest of the time.
