In Child of the Elder Blood, Geralt, Ciri, and Yennefer enter Avallac’h’s secret laboratory on The Pali Gap Coast in Skellige. The brief quest features one golem battle and two dialogue prompts with timers; each affects the hidden score that determines Ciri’s fate at game’s end.
Quick answer: Pick “Go for it.” when Ciri wants to wreck the lab, then “Yeah. I’ll go with you.” when she asks about Skjall’s grave. Both add a positive mark toward the good ending.

The two ending choices at a table
Each decision is a timed prompt with two options. One option adds a positive mark, the other adds a negative mark. Three or more positive marks across the five Ciri decisions in Acts II and III, combined with other conditions, lead to one of the two good endings.
| Prompt | Pick this | Avoid this |
|---|---|---|
| Ciri wants to trash the lab | Go for it. (positive) | Calm down. (negative) |
| Ciri asks to visit Skjall’s grave | Yeah. I’ll go with you. (positive) | No time. (negative) |

Add to Google Preferences →Choice 1: Let Ciri wreck the lab
Once the golem is defeated and Yennefer has unlocked the door, use Witcher Senses to search the lab. In the opening chamber, you’ll find sketches of Ciri and Lara Dorren, the note Caranthir’s Progress, and several alchemy supplies. A cutscene downstairs traces Lara Dorren’s family line; the long table there holds Remarks Concerning the Death of Auberon.
Behind the next door is a female Aen Elle connected to Avallac’h, who insults Ciri. When you leave her room, the first timed choice appears. Pick “Go for it.” Geralt and Ciri destroy the room together while Yennefer quietly joins in, giving Ciri an outlet for her anger. This adds the positive mark.
Selecting “Calm down.” fails to settle her. Geralt finds a necklace once owned by Lara Dorren and hands it to her instead, earning a negative mark for this choice. Regardless, Ciri and Yennefer depart. Before continuing, take Tales and Legends About Humans from the Aen Elle woman’s room.

Choice 2: Agree to visit Skjall’s grave
Ciri heads outside to the shore. The next cutscene only triggers when you walk past her, not when you try to interact with her directly. Trying to talk to her first can be confusing, so just move past her position.
The talk shifts to Skjall, the young Skellige warrior who aided Ciri during the Wild Hunt’s assault on Lofoten and lost his life. She asks Geralt to come with her to his grave on Hindarsfjall. Choose “Yeah. I’ll go with you.” to earn a positive mark and begin Skjall’s Grave.
Saying “No time.” skips the visit, leaves Ciri visibly upset, and adds the negative mark. Skjall’s Grave is largely one extended cutscene, and taking the detour costs no meaningful time, so going with her right away is the efficient move.
What you say at the grave itself does not matter, so you can respond however you like once the Skjall’s Grave quest begins.

How to confirm the marks registered
The game does not show these marks on screen, so verify them by the on-screen actions. For the lab choice, you know it worked when Geralt and Ciri start smashing furniture together instead of Geralt handing her a necklace. For the grave choice, you know it worked when the quest Skjall’s Grave starts and Ciri and Geralt travel to Hindarsfjall.
Completing Child of the Elder Blood awards 300 XP. These are two of the five Ciri decisions that combine with the Blood on the Battlefield snowball fight, the Emhyr coin, and the Final Preparations Lodge meeting to set Ciri’s eventual fate, so getting both correct here keeps you on track for a good ending.
