Every one of the 41 faction officers in Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered has a single unique 4th weapon with fixed stats, locked behind one stage, one side, and one battlefield condition. The method matches the original release, so the weapon only appears when you are on the right difficulty and playing the officer who owns it.
Quick answer: Set the game to Hard or higher, play as the correct officer on the correct side, meet that stage’s condition, then collect the weapon from its fixed drop spot or chase down the transport unit before the battle ends.

Rules that apply to every 4th weapon
Break one of these conditions and the attempt is void with no on-screen warning, so set them before you load in rather than mid-battle.
- Set the difficulty to Hard or above; Easy and Normal cannot award a 4th weapon, even if you fulfill its condition. Chaos is required only for 5th weapons.
- Musou Mode and Free Mode are both valid. For repeat runs, Free Mode saves time because you can select the stage up front.
- Use the officer associated with the weapon.
- Select the correct army. At Mt. Dingjun, the Wei side awards Xiahou Yuan’s weapon, while the Shu side awards Huang Zhong’s; choosing the other side makes neither weapon appear.
- In two-player co-op, the weapon appears if either player fulfills the requirement.

Add to Google Preferences →Precious Items versus transport units
Weapons are obtained in one of two ways. With a Precious Item drop, the weapon appears at a set map location as soon as you meet the condition, and remains there until you collect it.
A transport is an enemy that appears carrying the weapon, travels along a fixed course to a different Gate Captain, then withdraws with it upon arrival. Ride over to intercept it when the battlefield report comes in.
Xu Huang’s Marauder is the sole Precious Item that can vanish. If Fan Castle’s flood arrives before you reach it, you lose the weapon for that run.

Confirming a 4th weapon drop
Once the stage ends, the battle’s item report confirms a weapon counted if it appears in the list. Collecting your first 4th weapon earns the A New Blade achievement, while all 41 contribute to Weapon Enthusiast, which requires you to own every weapon in the game.
The remaster includes the Xtreme Legends content, giving every officer a 5th weapon as well. These weapons are obtainable only on Chaos difficulty, the remaster’s toughest setting; picking up your first unlocks the “The Ultimate Blade” achievement.
