Krao Cave takes its name from a mineral that wards off outside forces, and groups of one to five players can enter it. The Lepharists conducted experiments in the cave, creating Berk during the Last War; he now serves as the final boss at the end of the dungeon. Each run has a 60-minute limit and concludes with an Odyle Energy Cube containing the dungeon’s rewards.
Quick answer: Krao Cave holds three bosses — Enhanced Harcon, Neglected Gadioton and Ultimate Berk. Exploration opens at level 20, Conquest needs level 45, and the run has a 60-minute limit.
Krao Cave entry requirements
The dungeon runs in two difficulties, and each one gates entry by character level and item level. Both support a party of one to five players, and both cap the attempt at 60 minutes.
| Difficulty | Min level | Item level | Players |
|---|---|---|---|
| Exploration | 20 | 200 | 1–5 |
| Conquest | 45 | 700 | 1–5 |

Enhanced Harcon carries the title Enhanced Krao Test Subject and holds the Red Cavity area. It is a Varian-type hero boss and the first of the two optional mid-bosses.
Neglected Gadioton, titled Disposed Krao Test Subject, waits in the Weathered Testing Ground. Its loot mirrors Harcon’s almost exactly, with one extra material on the list.
Ultimate Berk, the Self-Liberator, is sealed inside the Sealed Cave and serves as the final boss. It drops the Red Agate armor line that the other two bosses do not.

What the dungeon is worth farming for
The Amplify Stone Fragment (Unique) (Bound) appears on all three bosses at 20% per kill, which gives you three chances at it in a single clear. It is the standout reason to repeat the run.
Balaur’s Essence is a crafting material used to build Draconic gear. It drops from the two mid-bosses at 10% and from Ultimate Berk at 30%, and it sells for 800 kina. The Thick Balaur Scale, Leather and Horn materials sit alongside it on Berk’s table at 24% each.
The Division armor and accessory set is the Epic gear line from Harcon and Gadioton. Its pieces are tier-2, item level 40 gear with three manastone slots and a maximum enchant of +10. The Division Helm carries 219 Defense, the 16th highest value among the 145 Helm items, trailing the top value of 567 shared by the Splendent Ebony Dragon Lord Helm and the Splendent Wise Dragon Lord Helm. The Division Pauldrons match that 219 Defense and rank 16th among 147 Pauldrons, and the Division Gloves and Cloak each carry 195 Defense, 16th among their slots.
Red Agate gear only comes from Ultimate Berk, with armor pieces ranging from 5.8% to 11.7% and weapons at 3.9% each. A full-party clear also feeds a steady stream of Refining Stones, which drop from the mid-bosses at 53.7%.
Clearing Krao Cave and reaching Ultimate Berk

Once Ultimate Berk falls below 60% health, he springs to the arena’s center and channels Wave of Fury, an attack that can eliminate the entire party. Use the arena’s jutting stones as cover to survive.

Between wipe casts, Berk throws out radial area attacks while the party keeps up damage. Watch for the circular swipe indicator and reposition to the safe spot behind the boss, and keep kiting when it starts whirling toward a targeted member.

At 50% health, the Extinction for Eternity mechanic summons stones for random area damage and begins another room-wide cast. Keep attacking to fill the stagger meter and cancel it, and hold one or two stagger skills in reserve for the shout phases.

An Enrage Timer runs for the whole fight. If Berk is still alive when it expires, the entire party is wiped, so raise your combat power and gear score before retrying if your group lacks the damage to beat it.
You know the run is done when the Expedition Complete screen for Krao Cave appears and an Odyle Energy Cube spawns in the center of the arena. Open the cube to claim the reward pool, including any Amplify Stone Fragments, Division or Red Agate gear, and materials the bosses rolled.
