In Ride a Pet, the Headless Horseman is the Halloween event’s Secret Pet. It is the rarest pet you can own and also the fastest, earning 92,580,000 Cash per second at its base rate. You cannot purchase it, and standard Halloween Eggs will not hatch it. The only source is the Headless Egg, found behind a hidden cave, with brutal hatch odds.

Quick answer: Collect one Yin piece and one Yang piece in the Halloween Zone, place both at the Yinyang Cave to open it, then check inside. Each opening has a 0.1% (1 in 1,000) chance to spawn the Headless Egg, which instantly hatches the Headless Horseman.

Requirements before you start

You can only chase the Headless Horseman inside the Halloween Zone, and that area is gated. You must finish Rebirth 1 first, then step through the glowing orange tree portal surrounded by pumpkins in the main map to reach the event world. Until Rebirth 1 is done, the portal will not take you in and the ritual pieces will not spawn for you.

Bring your fastest mount. The Yin and Yang pieces spawn randomly and any player can grab them, so speed decides who reaches a piece first.

Where the Yin and Yang pieces spawn

Both items spawn on the ground in the Halloween Zone, similar to candy, and may appear there simultaneously. No alert announces a spawn, so look for small, dark objects, often hidden among pumpkins and candy piles. Uncollected items vanish after 5 minutes; they then respawn elsewhere on the map in 5 to 10 minutes.

The pieces turn up most often in these areas:

  • Near the Candy Drop-Off area.
  • In the Cemetery, positioned above Yinyang Cave.
  • Around the houses used for the Trick or Treat mini-game.
  • On the open stretch of ground just ahead of the pumpkin area.

You need one Yin and one Yang to run the ritual solo. You can also split the work with a friend, each of you carrying one half.

Opening the Yinyang Cave

With both halves in hand, head to the dark stone gate marked with a yin-yang symbol. This is the first ritual the game has added, and it only takes two placements to unlock the door.

Walk up to the cave door and interact with the large circle on it. Place the Yin half first.
Place the Yang half in the same circle. With both pieces set, the gate opens and the cave becomes accessible.
Step inside and reach the cauldron, then pick up the Ritual Candy Pot. This pot decides your reward.

If you ran the ritual with a friend, whoever placed a piece can enter the cave, and if the Headless Egg spawns, both of you can grab it.

The odds inside the cave

Opening the cave does not guarantee the pet. Each opening rolls against the drop table, and the Headless Egg is the rare outcome. The far more common result is candy, which you can still deposit at the event drop-off for Halloween Tokens.

RewardChanceResult
Headless Egg0.1% (1 in 1,000)Hatches the Headless Horseman
Candy99.9%Up to 100 Candy for Tokens

At 1 in 1,000 per opening, expect to run the ritual many times before the egg shows up, if it shows up at all. Treat the candy as the normal payout and the egg as a bonus.

Hatching the Headless Horseman

The Headless Egg is an instant-hatch egg, so there is no waiting timer. Once it appears, grab it and it goes straight to your inventory, where it opens into the Headless Horseman on a 100% hatch. The whole challenge is finding the egg, not hatching it.

You will know it worked when the Headless Horseman enters your pet collection. Since it carries the highest base earnings in the game at 92,580,000 Cash per second, it will stand out immediately against anything else you own.
