Greater Ectoplasm is an uncommon Level 18 crafting material in Enshrouded, made by pressing Ectoplasm Shards together with Torn Cloth and Charcoal. You cannot pick it up directly from the world. It only comes out of the Ectoplasm Press at your base, so the real work is gathering the shards.
Quick answer: Place 10 Ectoplasm Shard, 10 Torn Cloth, and 2 Charcoal into the Ectoplasm Press and craft. Each run takes 5 minutes and returns a batch of Greater Ectoplasm.
Greater Ectoplasm recipe and requirements
The recipe runs at the Ectoplasm Press, a crafting station you set up at a home base. Before you can craft it, the Collector (Alden Crowley) must be unlocked, and you need to have picked up a Hollow Cyclops Head and an Ectoplasm Shard at least once. After that the recipe appears in the press.
| Ingredient | Quantity | How you get it |
|---|---|---|
| Ectoplasm Shard | 10 | Nomad Highlands Hollow Halls enemies and chests |
| Torn Cloth | 10 | Common scavenged drop |
| Charcoal | 2 | Made in a Charcoal Kiln |
Keep all three stacked before you walk up to the press. Torn Cloth drops freely from the same enemies that carry the shards, so a single Hollow Halls run usually covers both at once.

Ectoplasm Shards are the gating ingredient, and they come from one place: the Hollow Halls in the Nomad Highlands. The entrance sits directly south and below the Nomad Highlands Ancient Spire, tucked into a canyon. A key is required to open the door, so make sure you have one before you drop in.
Open the world map and mark the Ancient Spire first. The Hollow Halls sit in the ravine beneath it, which makes the Spire the easiest landmark to glide down from.

From the Spire, glide down into the canyon toward the dark entrance structure. The door is built into the rock face at the bottom of the ravine.

Inside, fight through the Hollow enemies. Shards drop from the enemies and from chests, and the stronger skeletons give up more than the small ones. You will also pick up Torn Cloth and Bones along the way, which is why a single clear usually leaves you with enough for a full press batch.

Expect a Level 18 challenge. Entry is possible sooner, though the Hollow foes are balanced around level 18, so equip suitable gear before heading in.
Getting Charcoal and Torn Cloth
Charcoal is made in a Charcoal Kiln, which burns wood under high heat. You only need two per craft, so a small stockpile lasts a long time.
Torn Cloth is a common scavenged material left behind by Scavengers and dropped widely by enemies, including the ones inside the Hollow Halls. Collecting shards in the dungeon usually hands you more than enough cloth at the same time.
Craft Greater Ectoplasm at the Ectoplasm Press

You know it worked when the press timer finishes and Greater Ectoplasm appears in the station’s output slot, ready to collect. The material stacks up to 250, so you can run several batches back to back without running out of room.
What Greater Ectoplasm is used for
Greater Ectoplasm feeds into Greater Ectoplasm Soup, made at the Collector. The soup takes one Greater Ectoplasm and one Sugar, and it cooks instantly. If you are farming the Hollow Halls for the shards anyway, turning the extra output into soup is the natural next step.
