Race evolution in Pixel Lineage runs on two items. An Heirloom pushes your race to its first evolved stage, and a Heartblood takes it one step further. Each of the game’s races has its own Heirloom and its own Heartblood, and both drop from specific Acts at set difficulties.
Quick answer: Farm your race’s Heirloom first to reach Kindled (Stage 1), then farm its Heartblood for Exalted (Stage 2). The exact Act and difficulty for all 14 races are in the tables below.
How race evolution works
Each race follows a fixed order. You start on your base race, apply the matching Heirloom to reach Stage 1 (Kindled), then apply the matching Heartblood to reach Stage 2 (Exalted). After that, a final set of race-specific requirements unlocks the Stage 3 form, which carries a unique name for every bloodline.
- Base race + matching Heirloom = Stage 1 (Kindled)
- Kindled + matching Heartblood = Stage 2 (Exalted)
- Exalted + final race requirements = Stage 3
The Heirloom always comes before the Heartblood. You cannot skip ahead to a Heartblood on a base race, so there is no point farming one until your race is already Kindled.
Only farm the Heirloom and Heartblood that match your current race. This is separate from class progression. Super and Ultra classes upgrade through a different route and do not use these items.

Heirlooms advance a race to Kindled, its Stage 1 form. Most early- and mid-tier races are found on Hard, while rarer bloodlines reach Nightmare. Human is the only Heirloom available on Normal.
| Race | Act | Difficulty |
|---|---|---|
| Human | Act 1 or Act 2 | Normal |
| Dwarf | Act 2 | Hard |
| Goblin | Act 2 or Act 3 | Hard |
| Ashborn | Act 4 | Hard |
| Slime | Act 4 | Nightmare |
| Stonekin | Act 5 | Hard |
| Sylvan | Act 6 | Hard |
| Vesper | Act 6 | Nightmare |
| Mushroom | Act 7 | Hard |
| Dullahan | Act 7 | Nightmare |
| Tideborne | Act 8 | Nightmare |
| Nightborne | Act 9 | Nightmare |
| Celestine | Act 9 | Nightmare |
| Seraph | Act 10 | Nightmare |
The Human Heirloom is the easiest entry point since it drops on Normal in the opening Acts. From there, difficulty climbs with rarity until the Mythic-tier bloodlines all land in Act 9 and Act 10 Nightmare.

All Heartblood locations by Act
Heartbloods take a Kindled (Stage 1) race up to Exalted (Stage 2). Unlike Heirlooms, they are listed purely by Act. Several Acts drop two different Heartbloods, so you may share a farming spot with another race.

| Act | Heartblood(s) |
|---|---|
| Act 1 | Dwarf, Celestine |
| Act 2 | Human, Sylvan |
| Act 3 | Nightborne |
| Act 4 | Seraph |
| Act 5 | Ashborn, Goblin |
| Act 6 | Mushroom |
| Act 7 | Vesper, Tideborne |
| Act 8 | Stonekin |
| Act 9 | Dullahan |
| Act 10 | Slime |
An easy way to remember the doubled-up Acts: Act 1 holds Dwarf and Celestine, Act 2 holds Human and Sylvan, Act 5 holds Ashborn and Goblin, and Act 7 holds Vesper and Tideborne.

Fastest way to farm your race items
Nightmare runs, Lives and multiplayer drops
Late-race Heirlooms demand Nightmare clears, so bring potions, a proper build and spare Lives before attempting them. A weak save will burn through Lives without securing the drop.
Solo and multiplayer handle loot differently. Running solo keeps 100% of every drop for you. Multiplayer makes harder content safer to clear but splits drops among the group. Pick whichever gives you the better clear rate for the Act you are farming.
Dullahan, the event race
Dullahan cannot be rolled from the regular race pool. It is part of the Halloween event and can be bought at the Candy Witch shop for 10,000 Candy. After obtaining it, follow the same evolution-item pattern as for any other race.
The Dullahan Heirloom drops from Act 7 Nightmare, and the Dullahan Heartblood drops from Act 9. Treat it exactly like any other bloodline after the initial purchase.
How to confirm each stage worked
After applying an Heirloom, your race listing moves to its Stage 1 (Kindled) form and the racial ability gains a boost. Applying the matching Heartblood then advances it to Stage 2 (Exalted). When your character sheet shows the Exalted stage, you are ready to work toward the final race requirements that unlock the Stage 3 form.
