Bond Through Muck is a Wandering Tale in the Qingzhou region of Where Winds Meet, filed under Seedling Temple Part 4. It centers on three quarreling friends: the monk Huise, a farmer named Tian Yun who spends his days treading manure, and the Taoist Gu Pu, who meditates on the cliffs above the temple. Most of the quest is spent adjusting the in-game clock so each character appears, then carrying their written letters back and forth until you can bring all three together.
Quick answer: Teleport to Seedling Temple, set the clock to the Shen hour (15:00–17:00) to meet Huise, deliver severance letters to Tian Yun and Gu Pu, then return the next afternoon and hand Gu Pu’s letter to Tian Yun to reconcile them.
Before you start: time and location
Every NPC in this tale only spawns during a set window, so you will open the time dial repeatedly. The hours use the traditional zodiac labels, and the two you need are Shen (15:00–17:00) and You (17:00–19:00). Each contact you speak with also tells you to come back the following day, so you will advance the clock to “Next Day” several times in a row.
The hub for the whole quest is the Seedling Temple teleport landmark in Qingzhou’s Eastern Peak. Fast travel there before you begin so every leg of the route is short.
Speak with Huise and accept his request. He asks you to return a severance letter to his friend and hands you the Letter of Severance: To Huise.

Take the waypoint westward to the woods on the temple’s rear side. Reopen the clock and choose Next Day, Shen hour; Tian Yun will appear working by the stone stupas, between two pine trees.
Speak with Tian Yun and hand over the Letter of Severance: To Huise. He rewards you with the Letter of Severance: To Gu Pu.

Advance time to Next Day, Shen hour once more. Climb the rocky bluff southwest of the temple grounds to reach Gu Pu, who sits meditating above the rooftops.

Give Gu Pu the Letter of Severance: To Gu Pu. He writes a reply and hands you the Letter of Severance: To Tian Yun, telling you to meet everyone at the temple the next day.
Open the clock and move forward to the next day’s late afternoon, the Shen or You hour (17:00–19:00). Fast travel back to the Seedling Temple landmark and walk out past the entrance stairs.
Find Huise, Tian Yun, and Gu Pu standing together in the grassy meadow just outside the front gate. Speak with Tian Yun, hand over Gu Pu’s letter, and pick the dialogue options that mediate their argument until the three reconcile.
If the trio is arguing but you are outside the Shen or You window, set the clock back into that range. They only gather in the late afternoon.
How to confirm the tale is complete
Once the reconciliation dialogue finishes, a “Bond Through Muck Ended” notification appears on screen. The tale is then marked as completed in the Wandering Tales list inside the Exploration menu, and your rewards drop into your inventory immediately.
