Rushing Rapids is a solo Sanctum sitting on a small island in the sea north of Echoback Landing, in the Breezy Plains region of Aniimo. The whole room is built around a timed swim race: you twine with a trial Popota, pull a lever, and then surf an obstacle course before the rising water seals the best chests. Clear it once and you restore the Vein, but the real prize is keeping all three chests open, and that depends entirely on your finish time.
Quick answer: Cross the finish line in under 2:00 to keep all three chests available, open them at the vault, then touch the core to restore the Vein. Finishing between 2:00 and 2:30 keeps only two.
Rushing Rapids location and entry requirements
The Sanctum entrance is on an isolated island northwest of Echoback Landing at coordinates -1636, 1864. Reaching it requires an Aniimo with the Swim ability, since you have to cross open water to land on the island. You do not need any Water Aniimo on your roster for the challenge itself, because the room hands you a trial Popota at the start.

Only one player is needed. The entrance holds three optional chests, tracked on a separate 0/3 counter, and the first clear pays Lumin Amber x1 and 500 EXP. Later visits keep the Transport destination but award nothing again.

The whole approach before the lever is untimed. Use it to confirm your Jump and Dash bindings, because the clock only starts after the countdown, not when you press the switch.
Running the water race under 2:00

The letter grade shown during the race does not unlock the loot and is not required to clear the Sanctum. Only your finish time matters, and it matters only at the line. A run of 1:59 keeps the premium chest even if you then spend a minute walking the vault, while 2:05 has already sealed it. If you fall early or lose the pace badly, resetting the attempt is faster than rescuing a dead run.
All 3 chest locations and rewards
All three chests sit in the vault at the heart of the Sanctum, directly past the finish. The time check has already happened by the time you arrive, so open them at your own pace. Work from the finish ramp outward: the Legendary chest sits at the end of the ramp, the purple chest is up the steps to the left, and the blue chest is on the upper right tier.
| Chest | Where it is | Rewards |
|---|---|---|
| Legendary (1/3) | End of the finish ramp | Glimmer x20, Sparkling Crystal x15, Gargantuan Horn x1, Credits x20,000 |
| Purple (2/3) | Up the steps, left | Glimmer x10, Sparkling Crystal x10, Credits x10,000, Spirited Feather x1 |
| Blue (3/3) | Upper right tier | Glimmer x5, Sparkling Crystal x5, Credits x5,000 |
The 2:00 deadline applies to the Legendary chest, while the purple chest has a 2:30 limit. The blue chest has no timer restriction, so you can claim it at any time.
Restoring the Vein and confirming completion
First, check that the chest counter shows 3/3 before touching anything else. Restoring the Vein does not count toward the optional chest total, and the Sanctum may not reliably let you retrieve a missed chest afterward, so clear the vault first.
Climb the central staircase to the top dais and use the Touch prompt on the glowing purple core cube. The cutscene restores the blue tree vein and resolves the challenge, awarding the first-clear Lumin Amber and 500 EXP. You know the clear registered when the vein lights up, the map shows 3/3 Chests Obtained, and the Transport point for Rushing Rapids stays active on the map.
Popota reference: stats and evolution line
The Popota you borrow for the race is the stage-two form of the Susuta family, a Water-element Aniimo native to Breezy Plains. Clearing Rushing Rapids is itself one of Popota’s research traits, so finishing the Sanctum doubles as research progress if you own one. Popota evolves from Susuta at level 29 and branches into two stage-three forms at level 39.

| Form | Dex | Stage | Base catch chance |
|---|---|---|---|
| 49 | 1 | 44% | |
| 50 | 2 | 33% | |
| 51 | 3 | 22% | |
| 52 | 3 | 22% |
Popota’s base stats are HP 92, Attack 96, Defense 68, EP Regen 67, BP Attack 80, Magic Attack 96 and Magic Defense 68. It fills the BREAK role and comes with Water skills built around Water Cannon and Hydro Roll. To push it toward Panpanta you need a Wave Stone x1 and a win over the Alpha Panpanta, while the Piopiota path also needs a Wave Stone x1 plus the courtship step at the beach. Across the whole family, the shiny rate sits at 0.005% (1 in 20,000) and the dark rate at 0.0333% (1 in 3,000).
Once the vein glows and the counter confirms 3/3, Rushing Rapids is done and its Transport point stays on your map for later. The course stops feeling chaotic the moment you stop chasing rings and simply race the 2:00 line, so if an attempt slips behind pace, reset early and take a clean run at it.
