A rundown of the gacha-style units, elemental combat, upgrade systems, and modes inside Sunflare Games’ new Roblox RPG.

Anime Requiem is a turn-based anime RPG on Roblox built by Sunflare Games. You summon units modeled on familiar anime characters, build a team, and send them into story stages, portal dungeons, and raids while rolling stats, equipping runes, and ascending your roster to push their damage higher. The look sits closer to a full gacha RPG than most Roblox fighters, with 3D models and animated ultimate cutscenes.

Quick answer: Anime Requiem is a turn-based team RPG where you pull units with gems, upgrade them through stats, runes, and ascension, and clear Story Mode, Portals, Raids, and Infinite Mode.

How combat works in Anime Requiem

Combat proceeds in turns: your squad faces the opposing enemies. Every unit has a pair of standard abilities plus an ultimate, called an Overdrive or burst attack, that must recharge between uses. In the tutorial, a Water element unit demonstrates Aqua Slash and Aqua Current, then fires its ultimate at a line of training dummies.

Elements decide how hard your hits land. An advantage wheel sits in the top-right corner of the screen, and attacking into a weakness pushes damage up sharply. An Auto toggle lives next to it, so you can let the game run turns on its own and still watch the full ultimate animations fire.

Summoning units and rarities

Units come from a gem summon banner. A single pull costs 150 Gems and a ten-pull costs 1,200 Gems. Two pity counters track your luck: a Legendary guarantee at 30 summons and a Mythic guarantee at 150 summons. Early pulls tend to land Rare units like GruntReaper, while the Legendary and Mythical tiers hold the big damage dealers.

Rarity runs from Rare up through Epic, Legendary, and Mythical. The two standout pulls shown are the Legendary Frost Mistress and the Mythical unit “The Strongest,” a Light element pick whose kit includes Prismatic Azure, Scarlet Ember, and Chromatic Violet. Here is how the named units break down:

Upgrading units: stats, runes, and ascension

A unit’s base rarity is only the starting point. Three systems in the Upgrades hub decide how strong it actually gets.

  • Stats Rolling rerolls the letter grades on Damage, Speed, and HP, climbing from the low E and F ranks up toward A and S using stat items.
  • Runes and Traits attach percentage passives, such as Anti Magic (+8% Health, +20% Defense), Anger Management (+6% Crit Rate, +20% Crit Damage), and Magic Enhancement (+12% Damage).
  • Ascension raises a unit’s level cap once it hits the current limit.

Ascension runs through an NPC named Timeless Mage. Taking Frost Mistress to the Timeless Mage lifts her cap from level 20 to level 40 using evolution materials. After that jump, a level 36 Frost Mistress clears full mob waves in a single hit, which shows how much the cap increase changes a unit’s ceiling.

Story Mode and difficulty tiers

Story Mode is the main progression track. It runs across four worlds — Bubble Archipelago, Demon Mansion, Soul World, and Shibuya Station — and each world splits into four Acts with sub-stages and a boss at the end. The first Act boss is RED JESTER. You can replay the whole run on Normal, Hard, and Insane, and the Auto toggle carries over so repeat clears can run hands-off.

Portals, Raids, and Infinite Mode

Beyond the story, three repeatable modes handle farming and challenge content.

Portals

Portals are instanced dungeons that live in your inventory and come in rarities like Rare, Epic, and Mythical. You enter one, clear consecutive enemy waves, and pick a power-up card between waves — options include Battery, Second Wind, and Quickstep. Clearing a portal pays out gems, experience, ascension dust, and more portal drops, which feeds straight back into unit upgrades.

Raids

Raids pit you against a single boss with an enormous shared health pool, shown with the Demon Swordsman encounter. You get three attempts per day, and your total damage dealt feeds a leaderboard that hands out tiered rank rewards. The goal is accumulated damage rather than a clean kill, so stronger units move you up the ranking faster.

Infinite Mode

Infinite Mode is an endless gauntlet that doubles as a showcase for deep rosters, with units such as Rengoku, Zenitsu, Nanami, Katakuri, Kizaru, and Asta all seeing play. It rewards a wide, well-upgraded bench rather than a single carry.

Release status and the RELEASE code

Anime Requiem moved into early access on October 14 at 6 PM Eastern, with a full launch following in the days after. Redeeming the code RELEASE! grants early-bird rewards to get your first team off the ground. The game is still fresh out of early access, and a few systems like its exact code-redemption screen are still settling in, so expect the codes list to grow as the studio posts more.

Taken together, Anime Requiem lands as a more structured take on the Roblox anime genre: a real summon economy with pity, three layered upgrade systems, elemental turn-based fights, and a spread of modes that give both casual and grind-heavy players something to chase.
