Where Winds Meet: Masterful Knife Skills (Qingzhou Tranquil Pier Part 1)

Masterful Knife Skills is a short Wandering Tale in Where Winds Meet, listed under Tranquil Pier Part 1 in the Qingzhou region. It begins when three children argue over whether Sun Azhuo really descends from a legendary hero. You settle it by sneaking a family heirloom out of his parents’ house. The whole tale takes about two minutes once the in-game clock is in the right window.

Masterful Knife Skills requirements: Location and time window

The tale can be found in the Exploration menu under World, then Qingzhou, then Tranquil Pier Part 1. Its description places three children near the tea stand at Tranquil Pier, arguing about a famous wanderer. Before you head there, check two conditions.

Location: Tranquil Pier in Qingzhou, by the trees and tea stand overlooking the pier.
Time: the in-game clock must be anywhere from Chen to You.
NPCs: Sun Azhuo, Qiu Xiaoding, and Yue Qinqin standing together.

The Chen to You range covers the daytime hours on the clock wheel. If you arrive at night, open the in-game clock and move it forward. Shen hour sits safely inside the window.

How to complete Masterful Knife Skills

Go to the group of children by the trees near the tea stand and speak with Sun Azhuo. He insists his great-grandfather was a hero and claims the family keeps a secret manual at home. He also asks you not to let his parents spot you.

Walk down to the village market and its food stalls. The Kitchen Knife lies on a butcher’s chopping table next to Sun Huairen. Press the interact prompt to pick it up.

Enter the brick house right next to those stalls. The Blade Secret Manual is on a wooden shelf inside. Interact with it to add it to your inventory.

Head back up the path to the children. Talk to Sun Azhuo again to open the submit screen.

Select the Blade Secret Manual and hand it over. Finish the remaining dialogue to close out the tale.

The return objective reads “Return to the boy and hand over the cleaver or the manual,” so the tale accepts either item. Submitting the Blade Secret Manual is the route that leads to the rewards listed below.

Kitchen Knife and Blade Secret Manual item details

Both items play on the same joke. The tale never confirms whether Sun Azhuo’s “legendary” family skill is swordplay or butchery. The Kitchen Knife is described as a freshly sharpened cleaver that can be a hero’s blade, a cook’s tool, or a weapon, depending on who holds it. The Blade Secret Manual is a worn family book that leaves open whether it teaches martial arts or cooking.

Once you hand over the item and the dialogue ends, the Masterful Knife Skills ending screen appears with the rewards above. The Qingzhou Exploration points also count toward the Tranquil Pier completion percentage on your map.
