Staff

The Dragoncore Staff is a Legendary Mage staff in Enshrouded. It sits in a fixed chest at the back of a cave, so you don’t need a boss fight or a crafting recipe to get it. You only need to reach the right ruin chamber.

Quick answer: Travel north past Drak’Dal Camp, go down the canyon path into the Cave Passage, and open the golden chest on the circular platform inside the ruin chamber.

Dragoncore Staff location: Cave Passage north of Drak’Dal Camp

The chest is inside the Cave Passage, a short underground route in the northern part of the map. Drak’Dal Camp is the nearest landmark. If you have the Crops of Cinder’s Cradle objective active, its marker points to the same area.

Open the world map and find Drak’Dal Camp. The Cave Passage is just north of it. Set a marker there so you can follow it on the compass.

How to confirm you have the Dragoncore Staff

The chest holds two things:

  • Gold Coins x7
  • Dragoncore Staff

When you loot it, a “SPECIAL ITEM ACQUIRED! | DRAGONCORE STAFF” notification appears. The staff then shows up in your backpack as a Legendary “Staff • Magic Weapon” with long range. You hold it in your hand and can equip it from there.

Dragoncore Staff vs. other Legendary staffs

Every staff below is a Legendary Mage weapon with an item level of 1-55. The main difference between them is which perks they carry.

Dragoncore Staff is the fire option in this group. It is also the only one listed that has both a Critical Strike Chance and a Critical Strike Damage perk. In exchange, it has no mana or healing perks, unlike the Crystalwater and Clearwater staffs.

Like any staff, the Dragoncore Staff only casts if you also equip Spell Charges and have Mana to spend. Pair it with fire spells to make use of its fire damage bonuses. Its crit perks apply to any spell you cast with it.
