The Clash Rune Enhance Scroll in AION 2 has one job. It is the upgrade material for the Clash Rune, the Special-grade item that goes in your two Rune slots. You can’t buy it from merchants, craft it, or trade it, so the number of scrolls you hold limits how far your runes can climb.

Quick answer: Each Clash Rune enhancement attempt uses one Clash Rune Enhance Scroll (Bound). Open a Clash Rune Chest (Bound) from one of eight regional quests to get one Clash Rune and nine scrolls.

Clash Rune Enhance Scroll item details

The scroll is a Common item that only works on the Clash Rune. It does nothing on regular weapons, armor, or accessories, and it adds no stats by itself. It is consumed during an enhancement attempt alongside Kina and Enhance Stones.

Because the scroll is bound, you can’t buy extras on the Market or receive them from friends. Server Storage does let you move them between your own characters on the same server.

Clash Rune enhancement cost per level

The Clash Rune has its own enhancement table and goes up to +10. Every attempt costs exactly one scroll, whatever level you are aiming for. The Kina and Enhance Stone costs rise quickly, and the success chance drops at each step.

TargetSuccessKinaEnhance Stone
+1100%5,000200
+280%9,070290
+366%19,700520
+450%40,000800

+815%379,0002,270
+912%563,0002,700
+1010%793,0003,170

If every attempt succeeded, taking one rune from +0 to +10 would cost 10 scrolls, 2,273,670 Kina, and 14,400 Enhance Stones. Real totals are higher, because each failed attempt still uses a scroll. The only guaranteed step is +1.

A failed Clash Rune enhancement can destroy the rune completely. Regular gear has protections against bad luck, but Clash Runes do not. Only risk attempts past +1 on a rune you can replace.

Clash Rune stats gained from enhancing

An unenhanced Clash Rune has item level 40 and requires character level 10. Higher enhancement levels add bonuses on top of its base stats, and the largest jumps come at +5 and +10.

StatBase+5 bonus+10 bonus
Penetration100+50+400
PvE Damage Tolerance0.5%+2.5%+5%
PvE Damage Boost0.5%+1.5%+5%
Combat Speed1%—+4%

Each character can equip two Clash Runes, and both count toward your stats. That means a chest’s nine scrolls don’t go very far. One safe +1 on each rune uses two scrolls. The remaining seven cover the risky attempts after that.

How to get Clash Rune Enhance Scrolls

You never get the scroll as a standalone drop. It always comes packed with a Clash Rune inside a Clash Rune Chest (Bound) or a Clash Rune Bundle (Bound). Each container you open gives you both a new rune and more scrolls to upgrade it.

Regional quests that reward a Clash Rune Chest

Eight regional quests each give one Clash Rune Chest (Bound) as a one-time reward. There are four per faction. Elyos complete theirs in Verteron, and Asmodians complete theirs in Altgard.

For Elyos players, Cursed Blue Mineral is the earliest of these quests. Hiru gives it at the Wind Breeze Merchants HQ, and you turn it in to Bao outside Dodo’s Stolen Goods Stash. Besides the chest, it rewards 36,000 Kina (Bound), a Wisdom Stone (Bound), a Daevanion Crystal (Bound), and the Deja Vu title.

For Asmodian players, The Future Within the Past is the matching level 30 quest. Harald gives it at the Abandoned Site in Uruthumheim, and you turn it in to him there. It pays the same 36,000 Kina (Bound), Wisdom Stone, and Daevanion Crystal, and it adds the Heartbreaker title.

Clash Rune Bundle from the battle pass

The Clash Rune Bundle (Bound) is a battle pass reward. It holds a Clash Rune along with Clash Rune Enhance Scrolls. Like the chest, it is Special grade, can’t be traded, and stacks up to 999.

Nightmare Trade Shop

After the regional quests run out, the Nightmare Trade Shop is the repeatable source. It sells Clash Rune Chests for Phantasmal Fragments, which you earn from Nightmare content. Each chest bought there adds another rune and more scrolls. That makes it the way to replace a rune destroyed by a failed enhancement, or to keep pushing past the safe +1.

Opening the chest and using the scrolls

Turn in one of the quests listed above to the NPC who completes it. The Clash Rune Chest (Bound) then appears in your inventory.
Open the chest from your inventory. You receive Clash Rune (Bound) x1 and Clash Rune Enhance Scroll (Bound) x9, and both appear as separate items.
Open the Growth menu and select the Clash Rune for enhancement. The preview shows the success chance, which reads 100% for the first upgrade, and the stat increase you will get.
Confirm the enhancement with your scroll, Kina, and Enhance Stones. If it succeeds, the rune’s enhancement level goes up by one and your scroll count drops by one.

Your scroll count only goes down when you confirm an attempt, so the inventory total always matches the number of attempts you have left. Each chest or bundle you open adds to that total.
