Deadzone Rogue 2 Demo: Homecoming’s 30th Sector and the Destroyer Boss

The Destroyer guards the last of Homecoming's 30 sectors, and beating it unlocks the Talon Mk. 2 imprint and new missions.

The Destroyer guards the last of Homecoming’s 30 sectors, and beating it unlocks the Talon Mk. 2 imprint and new missions.

Homecoming, the first mission in the Deadzone Rogue 2 Demo, ends on an open platform in Sector 30. That is where Monarch drops the Destroyer on you. It is a towering, multi-armed mech that shrugs off ordinary gunfire, and the fight does not end when it falls. You still have to reach a ship and extract before the full mission counts as cleared.

Quick answer: The Destroyer only takes damage through its glowing red weak points. Kill it, run to the hangar ship, and step onto the green EXIT MISSION pad to clear Homecoming and earn the Talon Mk. 2 imprint.

Where the Destroyer fits in Homecoming

Prophecy Games released the free demo on October 8th, 2026, for PC through Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox. You can grab it from the Deadzone Rogue 2 Demo page on Steam. Homecoming is a 30-sector run through a ruined colony ship, a ski resort skylift, a nightclub, and finally the military base where your clone soldier, Talon 13-10, used to serve. Over the radio, his handler Seven just calls him “Ten.”

The Destroyer is the second boss of the run. Robot Ronin, a celebrity robot fought in a circular arena, guards Sector 20. In the tram station at Sector 19, Seven first mentions an incoming “City Destroyer.” The last stretch moves through the base hangar, an airfield, and elevated walkways above old rockets before you reach Sector 30. A “SECTOR 30” banner appears with a maxed-out threat level indicator, and Seven yells, “Ten! Get out of there! You have to run!” Then the boss lands on the edge of the helipad.

Destroyer shields and weak points

Shooting the Destroyer’s armored body does nothing useful. Ten even says so in the opening seconds: “That won’t work against those shields!” The boss is only vulnerable through parts that light up red. These include its arm joints, a core on its head, and a large core in its chest. Hits on those spots produce visible damage numbers. The rest of the frame soaks up fire.

Those weak points do not stay exposed for long, so most of the fight is spent waiting for an opening and then pouring damage into it. The chest core is where the kill usually happens. Sustained fire on it drains the health bar until the mech staggers, collapses, and topples off the platform into the chasm below.

Destroyer attacks and reinforcements

The Destroyer fights with more than its fists. It also pulls in smaller machines, so the platform gets crowded quickly.

ThreatWhat it does
Ground slamsFists hit the platform and send out shockwaves you can jump over
Energy fireLaser blasts aimed at the player
Ground fireBurning hazards left on the floor
RocketsHigh damage that can end a run fast
Robotic addsSpawn from side corridors and along the walls

The adds are a nuisance, but they also drop ammo and help with survival when you clear them. Explosive barrels sit around the arena too. Companion pets and thrown lures can keep the smaller machines busy, which leaves more attention free for the boss.

The escape after the Destroyer falls

Killing the boss does not finish Homecoming. Seven immediately warns, “No time to celebrate Ten, more are on the way,” because more Destroyers are closing in. Fighting them is not the goal. A red diamond waypoint leads through interior corridors to a docking bay, where a prototype Talon ship is waiting.

Inside the ship, the hivemind living in Ten’s suit offers to connect to the controls and shield the ship from Monarch’s hacking. The run ends when you walk onto the floor pad marked EXIT MISSION, which has a glowing green border.

Homecoming rewards: Talon Mk. 2 and new missions

You know the clear worked when the “MISSION COMPLETE” screen for the Homecoming adventure appears. It lists 30/30 sectors cleared, along with your run time, kills, and scrap collected. It also shows an “IMPRINT ACQUIRED” notice and a “NEW MISSION UNLOCKED!” prompt before cutting to the cockpit.

New missionsBodied, Victor’s Lab, Biomass, Highspeed

Imprints are equipped through the Neural Lattice terminal on the command ship. It sorts them into Defense, Offense, and Utility nodes. Talon Mk. 2 front-loads its bonus, since all three buffs come from the first enemy you kill in each encounter. That makes your opening kill in every room count for more on later runs.

Suits, difficulty, and co-op against the Destroyer

The demo offers three suit frames: Striker, Titan, and Specter. Each changes the fight in a noticeable way. Titan can absorb more punishment, which helps when rockets and slams overlap. Specter is faster and carries a lure that can pull adds toward their spawn points while you focus on the weak points. The encounter also scales with the difficulty setting, which ranges from casual up to nightmare.

Homecoming can be played solo or in online co-op, and squads have pushed all the way to Sector 30 together. With teammates, the adds and the boss’s attention get split across several players, and many players find the run smoother that way. Either way, the Destroyer is the demo’s final checkpoint for Homecoming. Once it is down and the ship lifts off, the rest of the demo’s missions open up.
