Aion 2: Where to Farm Dratona and Mumu Warrior Pets to Lv3

Both Cogni pets cost 105 souls each to max, and their soul-dropping monsters share one red-water basin in northern Altgard.

Dratona and Mumu Warrior are two Common Cogni pets in Aion 2 that use the same level curve and the same stat table. Their soul-dropping monsters also live in the same corner of Altgard. That means one farming loop can push both pets to Pet Insight level 3 instead of two separate grinds.

Quick answer: Farm Dratona and Mumu Watcher around the red lake in Dranactus, northern Altgard. Each pet needs 105 souls total, which is 5 to unlock, then 25, then 75.

Dratona and Mumu Warrior soul costs and stats per level

Both pets follow identical numbers. Souls are spent per pet, so maxing Dratona does nothing for Mumu Warrior. Getting both to level 3 takes 210 souls in total.

Pet Insight levelSouls for this stepRunning totalOwned effect
Unlock (Lv. 1)55HP +10
Lv. 22530HP +20, Critical Hit +1
Lv. 375105HP +30, Critical Hit +2, Might +1

The owned effect works once the pet is in your collection, whether or not it is your equipped pet. Both pets are Cogni, so each level you gain also adds to your Cogni Genus Insight. Both can be ridden as mounts, and both can transform you into them at level 3.

Where to farm both pets in Altgard: The Dranactus red basin

The shared farm is in Dranactus, in the northern part of Altgard. The area is easy to recognize because the ground, pools, and streams are tinted red. Dratona packs and Mumu mobs spawn mixed together along the water, so you can clear both without moving to a new zone.

Open the Altgard world map and find Dranactus in the north, above Battlescar Mound. On the map, the red lake is marked as Dratona Den.

Travel to the red-water basin and start working along its banks. Dranactus has 38 Dratona spawn points, so a full lap around the water keeps you busy while earlier spawns come back.
Kill Dratona for Soul: Dratona (Bound). Dratona is aggressive and will attack you when you get close, so pull one pack at a time if your character is near the area’s level.
Kill the Mumu Watcher mobs mixed in with the Dratona for Soul: Mumu Warrior (Bound). Mumu Patrol groups roam the same banks, so expect them in your pulls too.

Keep looping the red pools until each pet reaches 105 souls. Turning on pet Auto-Loot saves you from picking up every drop by hand. It unlocks after you buy a Pet Auto-Loot Voucher from the Wind Breeze Merchants.

Soul drops become much rarer if you are more than 10 levels above the monster. Once your character reaches level 45, monsters scale to 45 and this penalty no longer applies.

Every monster that drops Dratona and Mumu Warrior souls

Dranactus is the only spot where both pets’ souls drop together, but each soul also drops elsewhere. Use the table below if your level falls outside the Dranactus range or the area is crowded.

Dratona Supporter and Scarlet Forest Dratona are both non-aggressive. That makes them easier to farm alone than the aggressive Dratona. All three Mumu Warrior sources drop a soul on every kill. Gribade Mumu Warrior attacks on sight. It also has more spawn points than either Mumu Watcher group, so it is a good second stop once Dratona is done.

Several monsters with similar names share Dratona zones but do not have Soul: Dratona in their drop tables. These include Giant Mutated Dratona and Mutated Forest Dratona in Scarlet Forest, and Dratona Egg in Dranactus and the nests. Do not spend time on them for pet progress.

For Asmodian players, two nearby Kibelisks are worth activating as travel points. Eastern Gribade Highland Cliff is next to the Gribade Mumu Warrior spawns, and Battlescar Mound Clifftop sits just south of Dranactus. Each one pays 4,000 Kina the first time you activate it.

Chest, shop, and dungeon sources for both pets

Both pets also come from rewards outside the open world. If you already own the pet, a duplicate pet item turns into a soul instead. That means every extra copy still counts toward the 105-soul total.

  • Mysterious Pet Chest (Bound): 3.93% chance per opening for Mumu Warrior
  • Pet Chest: Cogni (Bound): 2.44% per opening for Mumu Warrior; also contains Dratona
  • Growth Pet Chest (Bound): 0.5% per opening for Mumu Warrior; also contains Dratona
  • Black Cloud Merchants: Special and Pets tabs, with rotating stock
  • My Reliable Friends II achievement
  • Nightmare Altar Ascension Trial on Easy, Normal, Hard, and Extreme (both pets)
  • Sanctum of Loathing Ascension Trial on all four difficulties (Mumu Warrior)

Pet items for both pets are bound and cannot be traded. Monster farming is the only source you control directly. The chests and shop stock are a bonus on top of that.

How to confirm Dratona or Mumu Warrior reached Lv3

Open the Pets menu and select the pet. At level 3, the owned effect reads HP +30, Critical Hit +2, Might +1, and the transform option becomes available. Level 2 unlocks Mount Glide, so you can track your progress partway through as well. Your overall Collection Status count rises when each new pet is first unlocked.

To use the transform, equip the pet and use an Empathy Candy. Empathy Candy costs 20 Centuryroot Tokens in the Festival Shop and is also a Pet Collection Status reward. The transformation lasts five minutes. You can still use skills while transformed, but you cannot mount, and you have to cancel the transformation before switching pets. After Dratona is maxed, kills on its soul monsters drop Cogni Soul Crystals instead of Dratona souls, so farming the Dranactus basin still feeds your Cogni Genus Insight.
