What Quiet is: A Co-op Extraction Game Starring Ducks

Every player is an upright, cartoon duck in yellow, green, or blue feathers. The ducks wear knit beanies, witch hats, and jack-o’-lantern backpacks, and each one carries a handheld suction device that works like a vacuum. The tone swings between slapstick and dread. One minute the squad is hoovering up a screaming rubber chicken. The next, a smiling old woman is dragging someone down a dark hallway.

The loop will look familiar to anyone who has played a co-op extraction game. You sneak into a house, grab specific objects to meet a quota, deliver them, and try to avoid getting caught. The ducks show up with overhead name tags, health and stamina bars, and a mission tracker on the HUD. Interactive objects are outlined in green, yellow, or red.

Quiet Mission Objectives and Loot Quotas

Each run hands the team a named objective with a hard target. Some objectives count total weight and don’t care what you grab. Others ask for a specific number of a specific item. These are the ones the trailer shows:

ObjectiveTargetType
Quantity over QualitySteal at least 100 kgWeight
Quality over Quantity1 Gold Bar, 4 Silver CupsSpecific items
Finding Innocence8 Rubber Ducks, 2 Teddy BearsSpecific items
Fueling Superstition1 Ouija Board, 10 BooksSpecific items

Other targets appear in the footage too. There is an 80 kg weight goal, plus item lists that ask for 1 Walking Stick, 2 Rings, and 1 Teddy Bear. Progress is tracked live on screen with readouts like “24.6 / 100.0 kg” and “1 / 4 EA,” so the whole squad can see how close it is to finishing.

Collecting things is a physical job. The suction device pulls objects off tables and walls, and a “GRAB DISTANCE CONTROL” prompt suggests you can change how far away a held object sits. The ducks pull teddy bears through the air, rip items off walls, and lift a Peking duck straight off a dinner table. Once enough loot is in, a “Deliver Button Activated” message appears, which tells the team it can hand in the haul.

The Entity Hunting the House

The threat in Quiet is a smiling, elderly humanoid woman who patrols the halls. When she catches a duck, she grabs it, the screen jumpscares, and the view fills with red static. The trailer’s final gameplay shot shows a duck pressed against a hallway corner while she walks past, and it ends with another violent grab.

The game’s title points at the main rule. Staying out of sight and keeping quiet matters as much as filling the quota. The trailer covers several stealth situations, from hiding behind corners to slipping out of rooms before she arrives. It doesn’t say exactly what draws her attention.

Spaceship Lobby and Space Minigames

Between break-ins, the ducks gather in a sci-fi spaceship hub. Tutorial panels in the lobby are labeled “QUIET,” “STAND IN,” “SCAN,” and “TAKE-IN,” and a giant pink “START” button starts a game. On-screen prompts tell players to stand on the teleporter to ready up and to press Tab to open the lobby menu.

The party side of the game is a last-duck-standing competition on a round platform orbiting Earth. Parts of the ring fall away when a “COLLAPSE !!” warning flashes. Ducks who fall get a “DUCK OUT !” message, and the survivor is named “Winner!!!” A match runs seven rounds, with counters reading “ROUND 1/7” through “ROUND 5/7” in the footage.

Quiet Demo Platforms and Availability

The trailer’s closing card reads “DEMO AVAILABLE OCTOBER 22nd” with the Steam and Epic Games Store logos. That makes the demo a PC release, and the keyboard prompts in the lobby match. No console versions are mentioned, and no launch hour or time zone has been announced. The demo’s contents have also not been detailed, including how many houses, objectives, or minigame rounds it will include.

A release date for the full game has not been confirmed either. For now, October 22nd is the first chance to try the heists, the entity, and the collapsing space ring.
