The Ballrooms Mirror of Life in Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse sits on a ledge you can’t reach from the floor. You get there by launching out of a painting.
Quick answer: Grapple into the gold-framed painting at the bottom of the shaft east of the Ballrooms and launch straight up. While rising, grapple with no direction held to catch the pink diamond on the left wall, then climb onto the mirror ledge.
Where the Ballrooms Mirror of Life is
Dracula’s castle contains the Ballrooms in its Main Hall section, positioned to the right of the Grand Hall. A tall shaft borders their east side. Hooded gold statues line a ledge at its summit; below, a grand red staircase sits beneath green stained glass, while fireballs sweep across the room.
The mirror is in a small chamber reached from a ledge about halfway up the shaft’s left wall. A jump from the floor won’t get you onto the ledge.
Enter the shaft from the Ballrooms through the gold-framed painting above the burning block (see how the painting launch works); it deposits you on the upper ledge. Slide right beneath the low beam (Shift on PC), then drop to the shaft’s bottom.

These controls use PC keys, and Rose’s grapple is assigned to the right mouse button.

Common mistakes
Most failed attempts come down to which direction you hold during the launch.
- Holding Up on the mid-air grapple. Keeping Up held makes the whip catch the higher gold ring on the right, sending Rose swinging away from the ledge.
- Ignoring the fireballs. Fireball rows sweep across the shaft and can disrupt your launch. Track their timing and move through the gaps between rows.
- Going for the ledge from the floor. It’s too high to jump or grapple to directly. You need the painting launch first.
- Holding Right while launching. Rose exits through the opening on the right and lands on the rainy Balcony. This is another route, and the ornate gate cannot be opened from that side.
