The Flamethrower is one of the most useful items in Sell Fries! Anomaly because it burns through the potato pile that hides the key. There are two ways to get it. You can roll for it in the lobby’s Halloween event chest, or buy it mid-run when the shop across the street opens.
Quick answer: Open the CANDY CHEST in the lobby for 100 Candies (or a free timed roll), or buy the Flamethrower from the street shop during a match once it opens.
Flamethrower sources in Sell Fries! Anomaly
The two routes cost different currencies and work at different times. The chest runs in the lobby before you start a match. The shop only exists inside a run.
| Source | Where | Cost | Guaranteed? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Candy Chest | Main lobby | 100 Candies per roll, or free timer roll | No, it’s a random roll |
| Street shop | Across the road, during a run | In-run money | No, stock changes by day |
The Candy Chest is a limited-time event, so it won’t stay in the lobby forever. The countdown sits at the top of the chest menu under the “Ends in” label. Check it there instead of assuming the chest will still be around later.

Every roll costs 100 Candies. You earn Candies during runs, and the Game Over and win summaries show how many you picked up. You also get a free chest on a timer. The menu shows the time until the next one, roughly every 10 hours.

How to buy the Flamethrower from the street shop
The shop across the street starts every run with its shutter down. During the day, you get a notification once it opens. Its items come in different rarities, and the Flamethrower is a Legendary. What’s for sale depends on the current day, so it won’t show up every time.
Save as much money as you can before you go over. That way you can afford the Flamethrower if it’s in stock. The shop also sells the Money Potion, which pairs well with it.
Watch the traffic when you cross the road. Getting hit by a car ends your run immediately.
Equip the Flamethrower and confirm it worked
Start a match from any PLAY circle in the lobby. Once you spawn in the kitchen, select slot 2 on your hotbar. Your character holds the Flamethrower in their right hand. The prompt Hold to burn appears on screen, which confirms the item is equipped and ready.
Hold the button to fire. Aim it at the potato pile outside to burn it down. Each burned pile turns into cash instead of going to waste, and clearing the pile quickly improves your odds of finding the hidden key sooner. Drink the Money Potion before you start burning to get a bigger payout. The Flamethrower can also chase off the Potato Eater anomaly at the conveyor belt, though holding the interact button works on that one too.
