Update 3.5 for Anime Origins, titled “The Liberation of Toy Kingdom,” adds an awakened form of Luffo called Luffo (Bouncy Man). You can’t pull it from a banner. The awakening sits at the end of a long questline that pulls in nearly every system in the game: summoning, the Bounty Board, artifacts, a new raid, a second unit’s evolution, and a one-off challenge stage with flying enemies. Here is what the chain asks for and where the Gum Gum Fruit and the Straw Hat come from.

Quick answer: Complete all 11 quests in the Bouncy Man questline to get the Gum Gum Fruit. Then buy the Straw Hat for 10,000 Beri in the Beli Shop and evolve Luffo (Strawhat).

Luffo (Bouncy Man) evolution requirements

The evolution has three parts. Two of them need real playtime, and one is a shop purchase that is easy to forget. Base Luffo appears on the Pirate Piece Banner alongside Smokade and Zolo, so most players will already be summoning there for the quests anyway.

  • The base unit, Luffo (Strawhat), from the Pirate Piece Banner
  • The Gum Gum Fruit, the final reward of the Bouncy Man questline
  • The Straw Hat, bought for 10,000 Beri in the Beli Shop

Both items go in at the Evolution station. The Straw Hat does not drop from the questline, and the station won’t evolve Luffo without it. That is exactly where the footage of a full questline clear ends: the Gum Gum Fruit is in hand, and the player has no hat.

Bouncy Man questline: all quests and rewards

The questline is in the Quest Lines menu under “Bouncy Man.” It has 11 tasks. A 12th entry, also named Bouncy Man, unlocks only after all of the others are done, and that entry pays out the fruit.

The 11 quests together pay 1,900 Pirate Tokens, 13 Trait Rerolls, and 9 Perfect Stat Prisms on top of the fruit. Update 3.5 also added two codes that fit this grind. BouncyMan gives 300 Pirate Tokens, and Update3Half gives 60 Trait Rerolls.

Most of the slow parts are stacked counters: 8,000 kills, 50 bosses, 50 summons, and 16 bounties. Many of them fill up together while you work on other objectives. The two Pirate Collector quests depend partly on luck, because the second one counts only Mythic pulls from the Pirate Piece Banner. In the recorded run, the player had to do several multi-summons to get three Mythics.

The Bounty Board quests are slow in a different way. Sixteen collected bounties covers the first one. Supernova is a rank on the board, so it only rises as you keep turning bounties in. The Crafting station also appears during this stretch, where remnants get crafted alongside bounty turn-ins.

TOY-1 artifact and the Toy Liberator’s Key

Toy Kingdom is the new raid in Update 3.5, and Doflamingo is its boss. Running it covers Puppet Extermination, which needs 10 Doflamingo kills. It is also where the TOY-1 artifact comes from. TOY-1 drops from Toy Kingdom Raid Act 3, and its in-game description calls it a sealed artifact holding treasures and rare rewards.

The key is in TOY-1’s drop table, but it is not a guaranteed drop at low refinement. Refining the artifact uses Umbral Splinters, which are farmed in Hidden Sand. Taking TOY-1 to the Ascendant tier fills the pity counter to 10/10, and that guarantees the Toy Liberator’s Key. The item’s tooltip says it exists to obtain Luffo (Strawhat)’s evolution item.

Getting the key completes Toy Kingdom’s Liberator I right away. The second part of that quest then shows as 0/1 in the quest menu until the stage is cleared.

Toy Kingdom’s Liberation stage and flying enemies

You don’t enter Toy Kingdom’s Liberation from a menu. You open it by using the Toy Liberator’s Key from your inventory. The stage has 15 waves, a fixed deck, and the boss Puppet Master. Some of its enemies fly, and units that only hit ground targets can’t damage them. The first recorded attempt failed for exactly that reason: the flying enemies passed straight over a ground-only defense.

The fix is Fujitora’s active skill, Gravity Well. Here is its in-game text:

Choose a spot within this unit’s range to create a Gravity Well. Enemies caught in it are Slowed, and airborne enemies are Grounded. Grounded: Forces flying enemies to walk.

Once grounded, flyers walk the normal path, and the rest of the team can hit them. With Gravity Well placed on their route, the second attempt cleared the stage and beat Puppet Master. That clear completes Toy Kingdom’s Liberator II.

Zolo quests and the Zolo (King of Hell) evolution

The two Right-hand Man quests are tied to Zolo, who is also on the Pirate Piece Banner. The 15 stage clears only need Zolo equipped. The 3,000 kills count for either base Zolo or Zolo (King of Hell), so evolving him first makes that counter much faster to fill.

Zolo’s evolution item is the Swordsman’s Bandana. It costs 10,000 Beri in the Beli Shop, the same price as Luffo’s Straw Hat. In the recorded run, the player bought the bandana, evolved Zolo, and then ran Infinite mode until the 3,000-kill counter was full.

Claiming the Gum Gum Fruit and finishing Luffo’s evolution

When all 11 quests are turned in, the final Bouncy Man entry becomes claimable, and claiming it puts one Gum Gum Fruit in your inventory. That is your sign the questline is finished. The next check happens at the Evolution station. If the Straw Hat isn’t in your inventory, the station still lists it as a missing requirement, and Luffo (Strawhat) stays in base form.

Beli Shop purchases are separate from the questline, so the plan is simple: have 20,000 Beri set aside before the end, half for Zolo’s bandana and half for Luffo’s hat. Players who want to reroll stats can do it whenever they like. The footage rerolls Luffo to Double S before going to the station, but that step is optional for the evolution. Once both the fruit and the hat are in your inventory, the evolution goes through, and Luffo (Strawhat) becomes Luffo (Bouncy Man).
