At level 45, players can enter Nightmare in AION 2, where Wraith Giselle is one of four introductory bosses. This solo boss progression pits you against her in the Crypt, where she uses a handful of area attacks and clone tricks. Move clear of the ground markers to avoid every attack; she becomes more aggressive when her health falls to 75 percent.
Quick answer: Enter Stage 1 at 1,000 combat power or more. Step out of every ground marker, expect four explosions after 75 percent health, and dodge through her clone dashes.

Add to Google Preferences →How to beat Wraith Giselle: every attack
Giselle relies on two things. Her own area blasts punish you for standing still, and her phantom clones attack from angles you aren’t watching. None of her attacks require a special item or a party role. They only require movement.
Ghost Implode
Giselle detonates the space around her. Anyone inside the radius takes damage and is incapacitated, which leaves you open to whatever she does next. Walk or dash outside the marked circle before it goes off and the attack does nothing.
Ghost Implode after 75 percent health
Once Giselle falls to 75 percent health, she brings three clones into the cast. Each clone copies the implosion, so four explosions now land across the arena at once. Don’t retreat into a neighboring circle. Look for floor that no marker covers and move there.
Spectral Projectiles
Two clones appear and fire projectiles at the spot where you’re standing. The shots travel slowly but hit hard, so their speed is easy to underestimate. Keep moving sideways while they’re in the air.
Ghost Rush
Giselle sends her clones dashing toward you, and they deal damage as they pass through your character. Dodge through the line of the rush to avoid it. You can also spend a mobility skill to close the distance to Giselle herself, which takes you out of the clones’ path.
Arcane Projectiles
Giselle throws a spread of projectiles at your position. Each hit does light damage, but they add up. Most versions mark their landing spots with small circles on the floor. One version has no marker and simply flies straight at you, so step off your current line when she winds up.
A first clear of Stage 1 takes a little over two minutes. Your damage output decides how many times you see the four-explosion version of Ghost Implode, which is the attack most likely to catch you.

Wraith Giselle stages: recommended combat power and rewards
Each of Giselle’s 10 stages raises the recommended combat power and pays out Phantasmal Fragments. That currency buys items in the Nightmare Shop. The larger first-clear payout comes once per stage. Every later clear of that same stage pays the smaller repeat amount.
| Stage | Recommended combat power | First clear | Repeat clear |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 1,000 | 500 | 120 |
| 2 | 1,050 | 540 | 130 |
| 3 | 1,100 | 580 | 140 |
| 4 | 1,150 | 620 | 150 |
| 5 | 1,200 | 660 | 160 |
| 6 | 1,250 | 720 | 170 |
| 7 | 1,300 | 760 | 180 |
| 8 | 1,400 | 800 | 190 |
| 9 | 1,500 | 840 | 200 |
| 10 | 1,600 | 900 | 215 |
The combat power steps are 50 points apart through Stage 7, then widen to 100 for the last three stages. Clearing all 10 stages for the first time adds up to 6,920 Phantasmal Fragments. A Stage 10 repeat pays 215, less than half of a Stage 1 first clear. Pushing to new stages pays far better than farming one you’ve already beaten.

Nightmare attempt rules for Wraith Giselle
Giselle uses the same attempt counter as every other Nightmare boss, so how you spend attempts on her affects the whole ladder.
- Nightmare unlocks at level 45 and is fought solo.
- You gain 2 attempts per day and can store up to 14.
- An attempt is used only when you clear the fight. Failed runs cost nothing.
- Attempts are tracked per character, not shared across alts.
- Progress on the four tier 1 bosses unlocks the tier 2 bosses, Fortress Guardian Notun and Mutated Gerod.
Because a wipe doesn’t use an attempt, you can try a stage above your combat power to learn Giselle’s timings without risk. Once your stored count nears 14, start clearing at least two a day so new attempts aren’t lost.

How to confirm a Wraith Giselle clear
When Giselle’s health bar empties, she collapses and a “Nightmare Dungeon Complete” banner appears. On a first clear, a season mission notice for Wraith Giselle appears with it. The results screen that follows shows the stage you cleared, your clear time and the Rank Points earned toward the seasonal ranking. You can exit from there or move straight into the next challenge stage.
Check your Phantasmal Fragment total after leaving. It should rise by the first-clear amount for that stage the first time, then by the repeat amount on every clear after that.
