Dynamic Ops and the 3D Printer are two halves of one loop in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4’s DMZ. You run a short contract in Hajin for cash, XP and a crate of ingredients. Back at your Forward Operating Base, you print those ingredients into armor, backpacks and lethals. Both systems use their own screens and prompts, and both confirm success with a clear banner.
Quick answer: Press [F] ACTIVATE on a ringing Dynamic Op phone in Hajin and finish its objective chain. At the F.O.B., open the 3D PRINTER, pick an item, then hold Space (operator) or R (stash) to print.
Dynamic Ops in Hajin: what they are
A Dynamic Op is a compact contract that starts from a phone inside a point of interest. When you look at the phone, a card appears with the op’s name and a threat level for the area. Activating it hands you a chain of objectives that moves you across nearby points of interest. Clearing the final step pays XP and cash and leaves behind a Dynamic Op crate you can loot.
Payouts differ by op. Dead Man’s Cache, a LOW threat op, paid 4575 XP and $7,500 on completion. Those figures belong to that op specifically, not to Dynamic Ops as a whole.

The Radiation Countdown continues running below your minimap during an op. Begin one with plenty of time remaining.
How to deploy straight into a Dynamic Operation
The deployment map of Hajin has a SELECT DEPLOYMENT row at the bottom centre. Next to STORY MISSIONS sits DYNAMIC OPERATIONS, which the game describes as “Deploy directly into a Dynamic Operation. Every completed Dynamic Op rewards a Supply Drop of increasing rarity.” Below that, it lists “$10,000 – $20,000 Cash deposited to Bank immediately on completion.”
Confirm it and the row switches to SELECT INFIL. GROUND is FREE (“Standard Ground infil.”), and the paid infils cost $5,000, $25,000, $50,000 and $100,000, with the three most expensive showing lock icons until unlocked. If READY UP brings up MISSING KEY ITEMS (WEAPON, SMALL BACKPACK, 1-PLATE ARMOR VEST), pick EQUIP FREE LOADOUT to fill those slots, CONFIRM to deploy anyway, or CANCEL.
Dead Man’s Cache objectives and payout
Dead Man’s Cache does not always start in the same place, and its step list changes with the start. In one match it began in Cheongun Village and ended in Ijin Suburb. The objective line on your HUD updates as each step clears, and objective markers guide you to the next location.
- “Find Access to Enemy Comms Server” opens the op in Cheongun Village.
- “Get the Bomb From the Safe” sends you to a house at Mujin Pass, where the safe sits in a bedroom.
- The remaining steps take you into Ijin Suburb, where the op wraps up.
For the safe, follow the objective marker through the Mujin Pass house until it leads you into the bedroom.
In another match the phone sat in Imjin Farmland, and the op opened at a two-storey building there with a different chain:
- Find Access to Enemy Comms Server
- Get Intel on Cache Location (the device shows DEVICE STATUS: DOWNLOADING with a DEFEND marker)
- Defend the Area as the Hack Completes
- Loot the Explosive, found by the Hajin River bridge
- Find the Ammo Armor Cache
- Destroy the Ammo Armor Cache
- Kill the HVT in the AO
Killing the HVT finished the op with OPERATION COMPLETED and a +4590 XP pop. Read the HUD line rather than expecting a set route, since the next step only shows once the current one clears.

You know the op is finished when the screen shows OPERATION COMPLETE with the op’s name.

Once it’s done, loot the Dynamic Op crate. It feeds directly into printing, because the crate is one source of Rigid Synthetics, an ingredient the Medium Backpack recipe requires.
Ignition Point steps
Ignition Point is a short LOW threat op in Imjin Farmland with three objectives:
- Proceed to the Target Area.
- Get the Bomb From the Dead Drop. The dead drop is a white dumpster in an industrial yard next to the gas station.
- Plant the Bomb on the WMD. Planting it ends the op with OPERATION COMPLETE / IGNITION POINT.
Signal Breaker is a third Dynamic Op you can pick up on the phone, with a longer chain of its own.
How to print gear at the F.O.B. 3D Printer
Printing happens at the 3D PRINTER station inside your Forward Operating Base. The left column lists the categories: TRACKED, UPGRADES, CONSUMABLES, PLATE CARRIERS, BACKPACKS, TACTICALS, LETHALS, FIELD UPGRADES, FIRE SUPPORT, GEAR and INGREDIENTS. Your current Synthetics, Electronics, Chemicals and Metals totals sit just below that list.
| Prompt | Key | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| HOLD TO PRINT TO OPERATOR | Space | Puts the item on your operator |
| HOLD TO PRINT TO STASH | R | Sends the item to your stash |
| TRACK RECIPE | S | Adds the recipe to TRACKED |
| INGREDIENT LOCATIONS | G | Helps you find missing ingredients |
On a recipe you’ve already tracked, the S button reads UNTRACK RECIPE. Print buttons stay greyed out until you have every ingredient.
If your stash exceeds its cap—for example, Stash 41 / 40—HOLD TO PRINT TO STASH is disabled. You can still print directly to your operator.
3D Printer recipe costs for common DMZ gear
Recipes combine the four base resources with rarer ingredients brought back from Hajin, such as Reactive Metals and Rigid Synthetics. The printer holds far more recipes than these four.
| Item | Rarity | Category | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2-Plate Armor Vest | RARE | PLATE CARRIERS | Synthetics 50, Reactive Metals 5 |
| Medium Backpack | RARE | BACKPACKS | Synthetics 50, Rigid Synthetics 5 |
| Throwing Knife | UNCOMMON | LETHALS | Chemicals 25, Metals 25 |
| Stash Item Upgrade I | — | UPGRADES | Cash 10,000, Rigid Synthetics 10, Electronic Sensors 10 |
2-Plate Armor Vest is a sturdier plate carrier with room for two armor plates. Reactive Metals are the ingredient you’ll need to bring home for it.

Medium Backpack adds one secure slot. Rigid Synthetics are the bottleneck here: sitting at 4 of 5 keeps both print buttons greyed out, and they unlock once you return with the fifth, which a Dynamic Op crate can supply.

Throwing Knife is a retrievable blade that is lethal to unarmored targets and to the head. It runs entirely on base resources, so it needs no special ingredients.

Stash Item Upgrade I adds more capacity for items in your stash. Choose HOLD TO UPGRADE to apply it, rather than using a print button.
The PLATE CARRIERS options also include the 1-Plate Armor Vest, 3-Plate Armor Vest and Tempered Armor Vest; BACKPACKS has Small, Large and Secure variants. Among the LETHALS are Claymore and Frag Grenade, along with Drill Charge and C4; the list also includes Molotov Cocktail, Zip Gun, Proximity Mine and Semtex.
Attachments come from the Gunsmith, not the printer
Weapon attachments must be purchased with cash at the GUNSMITH station rather than printed. The XRK MIL-TAC SUPPRESSOR, for example, is priced at $12,500. Removing broken attachments or unlocking an attachment slot adds $1,000 apiece to the build cost. Confirm with HOLD TO PURCHASE.
All of this connects through DMZ Orders page 4, the way the Underground missions tie together page 2. Its tasks include collecting a Dynamic Op phone in Cheongun Village, completing a Dynamic Op and looting its crate, printing a Medium Backpack, a 2-Plate Armor Vest and a Throwing Knife, gunsmithing a suppressor onto a weapon, and killing 8 enemies in a row without taking damage.
