HoYoverse has scheduled the Genshin Impact Version 7.2 Special Program, the livestream that previews the next update. It streams Friday, October 23rd, 2026, on the game’s official Twitch and YouTube channels. Both platforms go live at the same time, so pick whichever one you prefer.
Quick answer: The Version 7.2 Special Program starts October 23rd, 2026, at 8AM (UTC-4), which is 12PM UTC, on Genshin Impact’s official Twitch and YouTube channels.
Release time: Friday, October 23rd, 2026, at 8:00AM EDT (UTC-4) / 12:00PM UTC

Genshin Impact 7.2 livestream start time in your time zone
The stream starts at one moment worldwide, so the local clock time shifts depending on where you live. Europe and North America are still on summer time on October 23rd, so the daylight-saving offsets below apply. For viewers in Asia and Oceania, it’s an evening broadcast.
| Time zone | UTC offset | Start time (October 23rd) |
|---|---|---|
| Pacific (PDT) | UTC-7 | 5:00AM |
| Mountain (MDT) | UTC-6 | 6:00AM |
| Central (CDT) | UTC-5 | 7:00AM |
| Eastern (EDT) | UTC-4 | 8:00AM |
| Brasília | UTC-3 | 9:00AM |
| UTC | UTC+0 | 12:00PM |
| UK (BST) / Western Europe (WEST) | UTC+1 | 1:00PM |
| Central Europe (CEST) | UTC+2 | 2:00PM |
| Eastern Europe (EEST) / Moscow (MSK) | UTC+3 | 3:00PM |
| Gulf (GST) | UTC+4 | 4:00PM |
| India (IST) | UTC+5:30 | 5:30PM |
| China (CST) / Philippines (PHT) | UTC+8 | 8:00PM |
| Japan (JST) / Korea (KST) | UTC+9 | 9:00PM |
| Australia (AEST) | UTC+10 | 10:00PM |
If you think in Genshin server time, it’s 7AM on America (UTC-5), 1PM on Europe (UTC+1), and 8PM on Asia and TW, HK, MO (UTC+8). Those server offsets don’t change for daylight saving, which is why the America server reads an hour earlier than Eastern time.
Parts of Australia that observe daylight saving are on UTC+11 in late October, which puts the start at 11PM instead of 10PM.

Add to Google Preferences →Version 7.2 Special Program redemption codes
HoYoverse has said outright that the broadcast will “drop” redemption codes along with other goodies. The actual code strings only appear during the stream itself. The 7.1 Special Program followed the usual pattern: three codes, each worth 100 Primogems plus Mora or upgrade materials, for 300 Primogems total.
Those codes don’t last long. The 7.1 set aired September 12th and expired at midnight (UTC-4) on September 14th, which gave players roughly a day and a half. Expect a similarly short window this time and redeem the codes while the stream is still running. Only enter codes you see on the broadcast or on HoYoverse’s own channels.
You can enter codes on the official redemption page or through the in-game settings menu. When a code works, the page confirms the redemption and the rewards arrive in your in-game mail.

What the Version 7.2 livestream is expected to show
HoYoverse’s announcement only promises details on “new game content and developments” in Version 7.2. It doesn’t include an agenda or a banner lineup. Some of the update’s identity is already public, though, and the stream should fill in the rest.
- Version title: Hour of Ruin, revealed in a promotional banner on October 21st.
- Mitya, a 5-star Electro character, and Valeriy, a 4-star Electro character, both introduced by HoYoverse on September 29th.
- A new Archon Quest act and an expansion of the Snezhnaya map.
- Banner phases, events, and new enemies, which are typically revealed on the Special Program stream.
The Hour of Ruin promo art shows Aether and Paimon on a fractured, icy landscape alongside several other figures. A tiny figure near the central chasm is widely read as Noy, the Snowland Fae first shown in the Version 7.0 Special Program, though it’s too blurred to say for certain. Plenty of 7.2 leaks are circulating about shooter stages, Ley Line enemies, and a higher Statue of the Seven level. None of that is confirmed until HoYoverse shows it.
The release date for Version 7.2 isn’t official yet. Genshin has run on a steady 42-day cycle, which points to an early-November launch. HoYoverse locks the date in with its Update Maintenance Preview notice, so treat any specific day as an estimate until that notice goes up. For now, the date to remember is October 23rd at 8AM ET, and keep the redemption page open in another tab.
