The Hollow on Roblox: Where Is the Elevator and How the Floor 1 Maze Works

The Hollow, the Roblox Presents Halloween event experience, puts its maze behind one elevator. That elevator is hidden at the back of a cinema lobby, and one of the two front entrances will not let you in. Once you find it, Floor 1 is a first-person maze shared with other players and a one-eyed entity that hunts all of you.

Quick answer: Enter the cinema through the right-hand entrance beside the ticket booth. Walk straight down the carpet hall past the concessions counter to the lit doorway at the end, then press 1 on the panel.

Where is the elevator in The Hollow

You need nothing to start. Join The Hollow on Roblox, dismiss the HOW TO PLAY card with the Got it! button, and you will be standing in front of the cinema with its “NOW SHOWING” marquee.

Follow the glowing footprints on the street straight ahead. They lead to the doors under the marquee.

Under the marquee, find the round ticket booth in the middle and walk into the right entrance beside it. The left entrance stops you at the door with an invisible wall. The right one moves you into the cinema lobby.

Continue along the carpet with the concessions counter on your right. Don’t take a turn; stay on the carpeted corridor until you pass the counter.

When you reach the hall’s end, find the wall fitted with lamps and a small illuminated doorway at its center. Enter that doorway to open the elevator panel.

On the panel, press 1. The panel shows buttons 1 and 2, with every other button covered in red tape, plus an Exit button.

On your first ride, captions accompany a voiced introduction, which you can click through. Subsequent rides skip the intro. The screen displays a “Floor 1” title, and you arrive roughly 11 seconds after pressing the button.

How the Floor 1 maze works

Floor 1 switches the game to first person. A “M Free mouse” prompt sits at the bottom left, so press M whenever you need your cursor back. You arrive in a carpeted elevator room with benches and a HOW TO PLAY board.

The board spells out the loop in four panels:

  • “Enter the maze and find the puzzle room.”
  • “Complete the puzzle, claim the relic.”
  • “Bring it back. Avoid the entity at all costs.”
  • “Claim your daily reward.”

A doorway marked by drifting purple sparkles leads into the maze. Just beyond it, a balcony railing overlooks the floor below, with a corridor following the balcony. Several players occupy Floor 1 at the same time, and a small white, ghost-like figure drifts through the corridors too.

Return to the elevator from Floor 1 and you’ll see the panel labeled “Lobby”. Pressing its Exit button takes you back to the cinema lobby.

The entity on Floor 1 and how to avoid getting caught

The pursuing entity is a black humanoid with a single glowing white eye. After leaving the sparkle doorway, watch the balcony corridor’s left side for it. It chases other players as well.

Watch the colour of your screen. When the entity gets close, the view takes on a red tint, and a strong dark-red tint arrives about 1 to 2.5 seconds before it catches you. Treat any red as your cue to run.

The screen goes dark red a second or two before the entity catches you.

Standing still does not protect you. Turning on the spot to look around is enough to get caught, so keep moving.

Runs are short. The entity can reach you anywhere from about 5 to 45 seconds into a trip. When it does, a giant eye fills the screen, and you wake up back in the cinema lobby in third person rather than on Floor 1.

You typically appear beside the elevator, although sometimes you spawn in the main lobby near the concessions counter. The remedy is the same in either spot: re-enter the elevator and press 1 once more.

Puzzle piece location on Floor 1 and how to pick it up

We found one puzzle piece a short run from the start. Its purple glow is visible through a doorway from the balcony hall, which makes it easy to spot once you know which way to turn.

Leave the sparkle doorway and go out to the balcony rail. Turn left there.

Follow the hall with the rail on your right. You pass a pillar and a bench with a bin before reaching the far end.
Take the doorway on your right, beneath the gold canopy. Beyond it, a hall has a rope-formed queue, red seating, framed posters depicting bats, and two gold fixtures resembling chandeliers above another doorway.

Look around that hall for the piece: a dark square tile bearing a glowing purple L, turning slowly in the air a little above a glowing purple orb. Its spot in the hall changes: we found it once beside the red chairs by the rope line and once by the second group of red chairs near the far doorway.

Walk straight into the piece to pick it up. There is no key to press and no prompt. The piece vanishes from its spot and floats just above your character’s head, and its purple light tints the walls and floor around you while you carry it. No counter or icon appears on the screen.

Right after walking into it: the piece now moves with you (bottom right), glowing purple.

On one trip the glow was not visible from the doorway, so the piece may not always be in that hall (another player may have taken it). After we were caught once, the piece was back on its spot on the next trip. Because the run passes the left side of the balcony hall, where the entity came from on our trips, keep an eye out for the red tint the whole way.

What we have not seen yet

We have picked up a piece but were caught before we could take it anywhere, so this guide does not yet cover what happens to a carried piece when the entity catches you, how many pieces Floor 1 has, where the puzzle room is, what the puzzle is, the relic, the daily reward, or how many Tickets the maze pays. We also have not found a spot that is safe from the entity, and we have not tried button 2 on the elevator panel. We will add each of these once we see it in the game.
