In Enshrouded 1.0, Mei-Yin Chen, the Lunar New Year Trader, gives you a quest called “Lunar New Year Plants”. Its one objective is to find the three plants she once sold to the people of Fort Kelvin.

Quick answer: All three Lunar New Year Plants are pickups inside Fort Kelvin in the Springlands: a Yellow Cymbidum Flower, a Fern and a Pink Lily Flower.

How to start the Lunar New Year Plants quest

You get “Lunar New Year Plants” from Mei-Yin Chen. Once it is active, the journal shows one step, “Find The Plants”, with this text:

The trader Mei sold a set of plants to the people of Fort Kelvin, but their beauty will fade with nobody around to admire them.

Retrieve her plants from their previous owners so they can bloom inside your base! There are three plants in total, and all of them are found in Fort Kelvin.

Mei-Yin Chen stands in the Springlands, about 370 m south of Netherton. Fort Kelvin is roughly 970 m north of her. The survivor locations guide shows where she and the other survivors are.

What Mei-Yin Chen crafts after you find them

Once all three plants are found, Mei-Yin Chen can craft six potted plants. Every recipe makes 2 and costs 2 Stone and 1 Flower Soil, so the three plants you find become six colours to place in your base:

Mei-Yin Chen craftsMaterials
Fern (x2)2 Stone, 1 Flower Soil
White Cymbidum Flower (x2)2 Stone, 1 Flower Soil
Yellow Cymbidum Flower (x2)2 Stone, 1 Flower Soil
Two-colored Lily Flower (x2)2 Stone, 1 Flower Soil
Yellow Lily Flower (x2)2 Stone, 1 Flower Soil
Pink Lily Flower (x2)2 Stone, 1 Flower Soil

Flower Soil comes from the Farmer, who makes 10 Flower Soil from 10 Farm Soil and 1 Honey. One batch covers ten pot recipes. The Farmer’s full list is in all Farmer recipes.

A Lantern For Mei: where the Paper Lantern is

Mei-Yin Chen’s second quest, “A Lantern For Mei”, starts with the step “Speak To The Carpenter About The Lantern”:

The trader Mei told you she once sold a paper lantern to the carpenter, Cade. If she saw the lantern’s design again, she could recreate them and offer them for crafting.

Talk to Cade Hawthorn, the Carpenter, and the next step, “Search For The Lantern In Morwenna”, follows:

The Carpenter said that the lantern is in Morwenna, a town he used to reside in.

The Paper Lantern I sits in a locked silver chest about 50 m south-west of the Morwenna map marker in the Springlands, so bring a Lockpick (see how to get lockpicks). Mei-Yin Chen’s crafting list has two paper lanterns:
