Each of the five Guard of the North pieces has a fixed location in and around Pikemead’s Reach in Revelwood. A pair are in gold chests within the Shroud. This Rare armor collection is item level 10 and includes a Helmet, Chestplate, Gloves, Pants, and Boots. These are functional armor pieces with stats, not a cosmetic outfit; they once belonged to Lord Vorgoth, the Northern Lord and eldest son of Queen Pikemead.
Quick answer: Loot five fixed chests around Pikemead’s Reach in Revelwood, two of them gold chests in the Shroud. The full set gives 51 Physical and 51 Magical Armor and one class skill rank per piece when enhanced, and costs 5 minutes of Time in the Shroud.

Where to find every Guard of the North piece
Each piece has a set location. Enable the interactive map‘s unique loot layer to reveal markers for all five pieces around the ruins at Pikemead’s Reach, the former capital.
Guard of the North Helmet
The Helmet is in a silver chest about 65 m east of The Pike, high up and about 90 m north of Imperial Gardens.

The Fell Wispwyvern boss waits at The Pike, close to this chest.
Guard of the North Chestplate
The Chestplate isn’t in a chest at all. Look for a silver sarcophagus about 60 m south-east of Imperial Gardens.

Guard of the North Gloves
The Gloves are in a gold chest in the Shroud about 40 m south-west of Pikemead’s Reach. A Return Beacon sits about 40 m further south-west.

Guard of the North Pants
The Pants are the second piece kept in a gold chest in the Shroud, about 70 m north-east of Pike’s Port.

Guard of the North Boots
The Boots are in a silver chest about 80 m south of Shanty Shacks, high above the settlement. A Return Beacon is about 70 m away.

Add to Google Preferences →Guard of the North stats
Every piece has equal Physical and Magical Armor, and every piece takes one minute off your Time in the Shroud. The rest of each item card adds a different bonus.
| Piece | Armor (Physical / Magical) | Other stats | Time in the Shroud |
|---|---|---|---|
| Helmet | 10 / 10 | Critical Strike Chance +6%, Backstab Damage +7% | -1:00 |
| Chestplate | 21 / 21 | Health +120 | -1:00 |
| Gloves | 5 / 5 | Melee Damage +3%, Magic Damage +3%, Ranged Damage +4% | -1:00 |
| Pants | 10 / 10 | Stamina +9, Sprint Speed +12% | -1:00 |
| Boots | 5 / 5 | Health Regeneration +3, Stamina Regeneration +3 | -1:00 |
Wear all five and you get 51 Physical Armor and 51 Magical Armor, with your Time in the Shroud reduced by 5 minutes. That penalty is the trade-off for a set that otherwise spreads damage, health, stamina, and regeneration across every slot.
Guard of the North perks when enhanced
The skill bonuses aren’t on the base card. They unlock as you enhance each piece, and every piece carries one Warrior, one Mage, and one Ranger skill rank.
| Piece | Warrior | Mage | Ranger |
|---|---|---|---|
| Helmet | Brute +1 | Thunder +1 | Fatal Precision +1 |
| Chestplate | Veteran +1 | Wizard +1 | Fatal Precision +1 |
| Gloves | Slasher +1 | Arsonist +1 | Marksman +1 |
| Pants | Barbarian’s Path +1 | Spellslinger +1 | Puncture +1 |
| Boots | Warrior’s Path +1 | Iceman +1 | Eagle’s Bane +1 |
That makes the set work for any class. Whether you play Warrior, Mage, or Ranger, each enhanced piece gives you one skill rank. Rangers get a little extra overlap, since both the Helmet and the Chestplate add Fatal Precision.
Completing the Guard of the North Set journal entry
Once you’ve collected all five pieces, the “Guard of the North Set” entry in the Revelwood clothing sets section of your journal is marked complete, and you get 75 XP.
The Broken Guard Of The North Crown is a different item: a Flame upgrade component, not part of this armor set.
Lore: the item texts tell Lord Vorgoth’s story. The Helmet reads: “Very few people witnessed the sharp, crystalline breath escaping Vorgoth from under the helmet firsthand. They saw his howl dance in the haze and felt it shiver down their skin, creep into their mind, and twist around their bones. Many did not live to tell the tale.”
The Chestplate: “Untouched by the Flame, and veiled in a lingering cold. This armor used to belong to Lord Vorgoth, who was rumored to have a frozen heart that splinters and breaks with every tired beat.”
The Pants: “Pants that were formerly worn by soldiers of Lord Vorgoth, oldest son to Queen Pikemead. Legends say he was consumed by the Shroud after the Ancients pushed him off Howling Peak’s summit.”
