Enshrouded 1.0: How to Get the Broken Guard of The North Crown

The Broken Guard of The North Crown is a progression relic in Enshrouded that you need to raise your Flame to Level 10. It sits on the central throne inside Cromville Throne Room, and picking it up advances the Crown Of Sorrow quest. Without it, you cannot push past the deadliest Shroud into the final areas of the 1.0 release.

Quick answer: Travel to Cromville Castle north of Cromville Hot Spring and Starfish Shores, enter the throne room, and press E to collect the crown from the throne.

Cromville Throne Room location

Cromville Castle contains the Throne Room in the map’s far north. Once the Crown Of Sorrow quest is active, its marker appears on your map; open it and find the quest pin.

For orientation, the castle sits north of several known points. Use whichever is closest to you as a starting reference.

For the fastest route, travel north from Cromville Hot Spring and scale the castle ramparts. Carry a few bombs to clear a way to the throne room if the route is blocked.

How to collect the Broken Guard of The North Crown

Approach the castle courtyard and move toward the entrance steps. A creature guards the illuminated gate, so clear it before you head inside.

Pass through the castle doors and ascend the staircase covered in red carpet. At the top, take the left-hand corridor inside and head toward the grand hall.

Inside Cromville Throne Room, proceed directly up the central staircase to the main stone throne. Use the interact prompt with E to collect the crown.

How to know it worked

Collecting the relic triggers a Special Item Acquired banner reading “Broken Guard Of The North Crown,” and the Crown Of Sorrow quest updates on screen. Those two confirmations mean the item is in your inventory and the quest has moved forward.

Upgrade your Flame to Level 10

The crown exists to empower the Flame. Once you have it, you can facilitate the Flame upgrade to Level 10, which lets you breach the deadliest Shroud and reach new areas. Gather the full material cost before heading to your Flame Altar.
