Floor 3 of The Hollow starts from the same lobby elevator as every other floor. Its ride runs longer than the others, and the floor switches you into first person once you arrive.

Quick answer: Press 3 on the lobby elevator panel. Floor 3 plays in first person, and the maze begins through the doorway straight ahead in the safe room.

How to get to Floor 3 in The Hollow

From the cinema lobby, walk down the long carpet hall to the elevator at the far end. This is the same route you take to Floor 1.
Step inside the elevator. The button panel opens on its own as soon as you walk in.
Press 3. As of 28 October, buttons 1 to 6 are open, 7, 8 and 9 are covered with red tape, and an Exit button sits below them.

Click through the dialogue during the ride. One line is written in symbols, and that line takes a few clicks plus a short wait before the ride moves on.

You know you made it when a “Floor 3” title appears at the top of the screen and you’re facing the safe room’s doorway. “M Free mouse” also appears in the bottom-left corner, because the floor is first person.

At the bottom of the screen, the lines are shown in this sequence:

OrderWhat appears
1“Ah, my favorite relic hunter! Don’t tell the others”
2“I’ve been thinking about our visitors. They don’t seem terribly happy to be here, do they?”
3An unreadable line in symbols, camera tilted up at the car ceiling
4“Wait, did you see- What? Who was that?”

The symbol line can’t be read and doesn’t need to be.

The Floor 3 safe room

The safe room is dim and carpeted, with the elevator behind you. The car is a small, illuminated space, and a white-framed panel is set into its back wall. You’ll find:

  • Wall lamps, red benches and a bin
  • An orange-framed, glowing poster on each side of the doorway
  • The HOW TO PLAY board on the right
  • Rows of red seats visible through the doorway ahead

The HOW TO PLAY board has the same four panels as on the other floors: “Enter the maze and find the puzzle room.” / “Complete the puzzle, claim the relic.” / “Bring it back. Avoid the entity at all costs.” / “Claim your daily reward.”

Inside the Floor 3 maze

The doorway opens onto a large round theatre hall. It has a curved balcony rail lit in gold, red seats, red curtains, a chandelier, and several doorways set under gold canopies around the walls. Walking in triggers one more line: “Goodness, another one? Different creatures, different places… yet they all seem to know what they’re doing.”

Just past the doorway: the theatre hall and the line that plays as you walk in.

Farther into the maze, a dim corridor has a red lamp suspended above a distant doorway. You’ll also encounter a high stairwell chamber washed in red, with double doors and long staircases fitted with rails.

Some side doors in the maze lead to another elevator car. Its panel works like the lobby one, with 1 to 6 open, 7 to 9 taped and an Exit button. Pressing 3 there starts a new Floor 3 ride from the safe room.

We did not find the puzzle room on two Floor 3 rides (about 10 minutes of walking), and no entity came near us. Other players report the rest of the floor as follows. Treat each point as a report until it is seen.

  • Floor 3 is reportedly themed on Demonology, and its chaser is the Biter.
  • The puzzle room is said to spawn in a random spot, and the maze changes each time. One player found it twice on the left side of the map: once near a theatre-like room and once in a room with four posters on the wall. It is described as an old, spooky room with graves.
  • A coffin in the centre of the room reportedly has a Grave Lock that needs a password made of pictures.
  • There are said to be eight gravestones. Each has one picture (Broom, Ghost, Witch’s Hat, Bat, Spider, Cauldron, Pumpkin or Scared Cat), a name, a birth date and a death date. The details are reportedly random for each player and change every time you restart.
  • A poem on a big sheet of paper, to the right as you walk in from the entrance, is reportedly the hint.
  • The reported rule: subtract each birth date from its death date, and the password is the pictures of the three people who died youngest. In one report those were Scared Cat (39), Ghost (41) and Spider (42). Your gravestones will show different values.
  • The correct code reportedly opens the coffin and gives you the Third Night Relic. Carry it back through the maze to the elevator and down to the lobby for the Festering Felix badge and UGC, a head accessory.
  • Floor 3 reportedly also has a secret room that leads to Dead Rails. For that badge, see our Dead Rails badge guide.
