Quick answer: Hero’s Courage is the reward for The Undying Heroic Spirit in Pangzhen: free the Mandate masters and collect your fourth Memory Flower. It Soul Tempers Swordsman’s Summon.
Where to get Hero’s Courage
Hero’s Courage is the reward for the tale The Undying Heroic Spirit in Pangzhen. Free the Mandate masters and pick up their Memory Flowers. Collecting the fourth Memory Flower completes the tale: the game takes your shattered jade and gives you Hero’s Courage in its place.
Be careful with the releases, since three failed releases fail the quest.

The item card reads:
A jade pendant named the Hero’s Courage. Filled with the memories of heroes who remained true to their hearts, it still shines with luster.
Though the Maskwalkers and Perfect Transcension have broken countless practitioners of the Mandate, so long as the deviant path endures and the Wulin knows no peace, there will always be those who walk through fire for it. Their identities may differ, and their reasons may vary, but that hero spirit, unbowed by a corrupt world, is always the same.
Its effect line reads: “Used to Soul Temper the Swordsman’s Summons.”

What Hero’s Courage does
Hero’s Courage Soul Tempers the Swordsman’s Summon and nothing else. It belongs with the game’s other Soul Tempering materials, each tied to its own weapon.
To use it, visit Myst in the Order’s underground tavern in Pangzhen. The upgrade costs 5,000 Remnant Dust plus Hero’s Courage. The process is the same as any other Soul Tempering upgrade.
The upgrade is called Master Swordsmen, and its effect reads: “Replaces the summoned Swordsman Captain with a Purple-robed Twinblade Swordsman, and the two summoned Swordsman Disciples with Baishan Sword Guardians. The new summons inherit all swordsman upgrades.”
