Eat the Light fruit in Blox Fruits (how to eat a fruit is in our store and eat guide) and you get one usable move. The other four stay locked behind fruit mastery, and the game shows you the full list the moment you hold the fruit. Below is the full move list as the panel shows it, and how the first mastery level arrived for our Lv. 5 Pirate in the First Sea on 2 November 2026. We have only used Light Ray so far, so this guide does not describe what the other four moves do.
Quick answer: Light Ray (Z) is open at Mastery 1. Light Flight (F) unlocks at Mastery 10, Barrage of Light (X) at 40, Reflection Kick (C) at 80, and Sky Beam Barrage (V) at 110.
Light fruit moves and mastery unlock levels
Put the Light fruit in your hand. It sits in hotbar slot 2 with a yellow star-burst icon. A panel opens on the right side of the screen. It reads “Mastery 1” over a bar showing “0/70”, then “LIGHT”, then every move with its key and the mastery it needs. Locked moves are greyed out; the one you can use is white.

What a locked Light move says
Pressing the key for a locked move shows red and white text at the top of the screen, naming the mastery level the move needs.
- F: “Skill locked! Mastery Lv. 10 required.”
- X: “Skill locked! Mastery Lv. 40 required.”
- C: “Skill locked! Mastery Lv. 80 required.”
- V: “Skill locked! Mastery Lv. 110 required.”
How to level Light mastery with Light Ray
Fruit mastery rises when you kill enemies with the fruit’s moves. We leveled Light on Bandits [Lv. 5] on Pirate Starter, in the field near the Sword Dealer and Blox Fruit Dealer stalls (our beginner guide covers that island). The “Safe Zone” text still shows there, but Bandits still take damage.
Look for the “(+Blox Fruit)” tag after the Exp line. Both of our Light Ray kills showed it, and the mastery bar rose each time.
How to confirm a Light mastery level-up
After the level-up message, the panel on the right changes from “Mastery 1” to “Mastery 2”. The bar resets to “13/74”, which means Mastery 2 needs 74 to fill. At this stage, two Bandit kills take Light from Mastery 1 to Mastery 2. Keep farming the same way, and the next unlock is Light Flight on F at Mastery 10.
What we have not tested yet
- What Light Flight, Barrage of Light, Reflection Kick and Sky Beam Barrage do. All four were still locked.
- Whether Blox Fruit stat points raise Light Ray’s damage. We had one point to spend there and left it unspent (see how stat points work).
- Whether left clicks while holding Light do damage on their own.
- How much mastery stronger enemies give.
