Quick answer: Huijue waits by the camp huts below the Outpost bell in Weeping Creek Valley as a Bronze Man: Fist; defeat him, then the Peddler who joins mid-fight, to obtain the Prayer Beads story item.

Huijue at a glance

This is a two-enemy fight, and neither enemy gets a boss bar. Each one carries a small health bar above its head instead.

The Bronze Man: Fist is the form Huijue has taken, and he fights with punches and kicks. The Peddler’s lines are subtitled “The Peddler”, but the enemy itself is the “Mad Scholar”.

Where to find Huijue in Weeping Creek Valley

Start at the Outpost bell, but clear the nearby enemies first.

At Weeping Creek Valley, reach the Outpost bell. Deal with the Faceless pack nearby, then rest at the bell to set your restart point.

In our run, the Outpost bell in Weeping Creek Valley stayed shut while a Faceless pack patrolled near it. It opened once the pack was defeated. Alongside four Faceless soldiers, the pack included a Faceless Spearman Captain and a Faceless Swordsman Captain.

From the bell, head toward the camp forge; a blacksmith is working at an anvil there. A rock wall beside it blocks the direct route down.

Circle around the forge, then descend toward the huts along the wooden planks and steps. A horse tethered beside a wooden stall marks the right spot.

How the Bronze Man fight plays out

The Bronze Man begins the encounter by himself on the exposed route linking the huts to the stone steps. He keeps close and attacks quickly. Your blade sends sparks flying when it clashes with his bronze fists.

Watch for three kinds of pressure from him:

  • Quick punches at close range.
  • A high, leaping kick that flies straight at you.
  • Heavy hits that knock Soul flat on the ground.

Roughly a minute into the fight, the action shifts to the wooden hut, where the Peddler joins in. He shouts lines like “Dad brought you pinwheels!” and charges with his arms outstretched. Once both are inside, the Peddler tends to hang back while the Bronze Man keeps up the assault.

How to beat Huijue and the Peddler

Use the opening stretch while the Bronze Man is alone on the path. That’s your cleanest window, because the Peddler only joins later inside the hut.

Keep targeting the Bronze Man after the Peddler enters.

Use Phantom Edges when the Bronze Man is at close range.

In our run, inside the hut, a heavy swing from a Phantom Edge defeated the Bronze Man: Fist.

You will get knocked down by the leaping kick and the heavy hits.

In our run, the Peddler stayed by the window inside the hut; roughly a minute later, he fell just outside.

In our run, the Wayfarer fight ran slightly longer than three minutes, and the healing gourd remained unused.

Huijue reward: Prayer Beads

When both enemies are down, a Prayer Beads story item card appears on screen. This is Huijue’s relic. The card reads:

“A simple set of wooden prayer beads. It is said that ten thousand recitations of the sutras earn a measure of merit. How many times did their owner recite them? How many nights passed in waiting?”

“No one is left to answer these questions; the monk who once carried these beads has become something no longer human.”

The beads belong with the Stately Monk, the Kuye Temple monk sitting a few steps from the Survivors’ Courtyard bell in the Village of Lu.

Choose “Huijue’s relics” at his menu and he hands over the Agarwood Prayer Beads accessory, described as “Reduces recovery time from Guard-Broken by 15%.” The tale step “Bring Huijue’s relic to the Kuye Temple monk in Village of Lu” is then struck through.
