Quick answer: On Mount Soulrend, Meng Hua is fought at the peak immediately following Leng Tu along the snow road. Her attacks include red lances, pillars of light, lightning, frost, and sweeps from her bladed fan.

Meng Hua at a glance

The boss bar displays Meng Hua, The Merciful Lady of the Blossom Veil, and she has a single health bar.

This encounter belongs to the final stretch at the summit of Mount Soulrend. Endgame story spoilers follow.

She towers in crimson robes, with long red hair, an elaborate high headdress draped in red cords, and an enormous bladed fan.

The battle takes place on the Leng Tu arena’s broad snow-covered road beneath a red sky, bordered on both sides by jagged red rock ridges.

The nearest bell is the Soulrend Cliff bell.

The fight before hers is Leng Tu, Herald of the Veil.

Where to find Meng Hua

Use the bell at Mount Soulrend’s summit, Soulrend Cliff, to rest. The menu bears the title “Soulrend Cliff”.
From the bell, follow the snowy path to the arena where Leng Tu is waiting. Her encounter begins immediately after his.
During her arrival, she drops from above amid purple light, arms outstretched and fan in hand; red cords dangle from her headdress.

Her health bar appears as she hovers far up the road, and she says “You ignorant mortals shall all return to chaos… and become one with the blight!”

In our run, after a death her entrance did not play again. She waited about 50 to 70 m up the road from where the Leng Tu scene starts, and only approached Soul once he moved nearer.

Allies in the Meng Hua fight

As the battle unfolds, Soul hears Inanis’s voice calling to him.

Other figures join Soul in the fight; among them is a glowing golden figure that attacks her.

She asks Soul why he refuses to become her new Herald, then warns that she will erase him completely, leaving not even a speck of dust.

In our run, Meng Hua was knocked to the ground once mid-fight, and Inanis’s voice said “She’s yours now. Finish her!” The attempt still ended in a loss.

Tips for fighting Meng Hua

  1. Before heading down the road, rest at the bell called Soulrend Cliff. In our run, it was the bell Soul came back to after each death.
  2. Watch the snow for glowing red circles; they indicate the spots where the pillars of light will strike.
  3. Neither close nor long range is safe from her attacks, so keeping your distance won’t put you beyond her reach.
  4. In our run, the Wayfarer attempt lasted about seven and a half minutes before the loss.
