The Summer 2026 + Return update adds a 50-wave weather mode, Sky Island portals, three limited Secret units and a pity-resetting Celestial Compass.

The Summer 2026 + Return update adds a 50-wave weather mode, Sky Island portals, three limited Secret units and a pity-resetting Celestial Compass.

Update 21 for Anime Adventures, the Roblox anime tower defense game, went live on 7 Nov 2026 (UTC). The in-game version label now reads “UPD 21.0.0”, and the update log opens on join under the header “UPDATE – Summer 2026 + Return!” The first two entries are “New Event: Summer!” and “New Gamemode: Summer Hunt!” Together they add a new event loop on a ship in the lobby, a sky-high portal chain, and a set of systems that change how you summon, gear up and team up.

Quick answer: From the lobby, get aboard the ship; earn Summer Pearls by playing Summer Hunt, follow Sky Portals until you reach Sky Island, then face the Sky God for a shot at a new Secret unit.

How to play the Summer 2026 event

The event runs as a chain, and each stage feeds the next. Join Anime Adventures on Roblox and confirm the update log shows “UPD 21.0.0” before you start.

Board the ship in the lobby. It is the entry point for everything summer-related, including the Summer Merchant.
Play the Summer Hunt game mode. Each run is 50 waves long, and finishing runs is how you collect Summer Pearls.
Spend or save your Summer Pearls. They pay for the Summer banner and for Sunny Stars, which hold the limited Phoenix.
Find Sky Portals during your runs, open them in the lobby and climb their tiers up to Sky Island. Clearing them can lead to a Secret portal.
Challenge the Sky God on Sky Island. Beating it gives you a chance at the new Secret unit.

Summer Hunt rules and weathers

Summer Hunt is a roguelike-flavored defense mode. You make choices mid-run instead of locking everything in at the start.

  • Card picks come up every few waves during a run.
  • Each run lasts 50 waves.
  • The map and the weather both change every hour.
  • Each extra player in your party adds +5% Summer Pearls, up to +25%.
  • A win can drop a Charm, a new item that comes in 4 tiers. Clearing all 50 waves also gives a chance at a Secret portal.

There are 9 weathers in rotation: Rainy, Windy, Blizzard, Inferno, Sandstorm, Magical, Flooded, Stormy and Starfall. Because weather flips on the hour, the conditions you queue into can change between one run and the next. Here is what each one does:

  • Rainy: the ground is slick, so enemies move faster.
  • Windy: some enemies take flight, and the wind pushes enemies along the path.
  • Blizzard: many enemies turn to Ice and take less damage from everything except Fire.
  • Inferno: burning enemies rush in, and fire patches block the best placement spots.
  • Sandstorm: enemies start hidden in the sand and resist Magic, while Physical damage is stronger.
  • Magical: enemies resist Physical damage, and Magic damage is stronger.
  • Flooded: enemies burst out with extra speed.
  • Stormy: your range drops, and lightning stuns the most expensive unit on the map.
  • Starfall: the rarest weather. Star Golems fall from the sky and drop Star Remnants.

How to get Sky God, Phoenix and Explosion Mage

Update 21 adds three limited Secret units, and each one comes from a different place.

UnitRarityWhere it comes from
Sky GodSecret (limited)Sky God’s Portal
Explosion MageSecret (limited)Explosion Mage’s Portal
PhoenixSecret (limited)Sunny Stars

Sky Island is the new portal destination. You find Sky Portals during Summer Hunt runs, and picking harder cards gets you higher-tier portals, which give more rewards. You open them in the lobby, where other players can join you. Clearing Sky Portals gives a chance at a Secret portal, and that is where the Sky God waits. Two new maps arrive with the update, Sky Island and Adventurer Town.

Sunny Star odds and Mythic capsule units

A Sunny Star costs 150 Summer Pearls. Its description promises “4 exclusive units and 9 different skins possible” and lists these odds:

RewardChance
Rare Skin81.5%
Epic Skin16.0%
Legendary Skin2.0%
Mythic Skin0.25%
Mythic Unit0.25%
Secret Unit1 in 40,000

The Secret Unit slot is Phoenix. The update also adds 3 limited Mythic capsule units: Fishi, Armored Crusader and Water Goddess.

How to farm Summer Pearls

  • Play Summer Hunt, ideally in a party for the pearl bonus.
  • Trade gems with Bulby, the Summer Merchant on the ship, for up to 5,000 Summer Pearls a day.
  • Summer Pearls can also be bought in the Store.

The Summer Bingo board is also part of the event, sitting alongside the Hunt and the Merchant.

The summon screen’s “Select Banner” list now shows three banners. Summer is marked “Contains exclusive limited units!”, Special is labelled “Main special banner with new units!”, and Legacy rounds it out. The pity counter reads “Mythic Pity: 0/400”.

The summon screen after the update: Summer, Special and Legacy banners, "Mythic Pity: 0/400" and the Summer 2026 Event banner at 150 Summer Pearls per summon

The Summer 2026 Event banner costs 150 Summer Pearls per summon, with Summon x1 and Summon x10 options. It carries the line “Guaranteed featured unit when you draw a Mythic from this banner!” so any Mythic you pull there is the featured unit.

Banner pools were rebalanced across the board. Lex, Wratho, Red Scar and Ashborn are back on the banners, and Shadow Sorcerer joins the Legacy banner. In the lobby, the “Featured Units:” board shows Word Mage, Crush (Mythic) and Lilia (Mythic), tagged “2x Mythic Chance!”

The Celestial Compass lets you choose which Mythic your next Mythic from the Special banner turns into. You can set or change the pick at any time before it lands. The compass is only used up when your pick is summoned, and that also resets the banner’s pity; after that, Mythics are random again until you set a new pick.

Flying rework and the Soaring enemy type

Flying enemies have been reworked, and a new enemy type called Soaring joins them. Every unit can now attack Flying enemies, but ground attacks that cannot normally hit Flying deal 50% less damage to them and cannot stun or slow them. Hill units, Hybrid units placed on a hill, and attacks that hit Flying deal full damage. Soaring enemies fly even higher, and only units placed on a hill can reach them. They show up in Sky Portals, so plan your team with hill placements in mind.

Seasons, Infinity Mansion and unlock changes

  • A new Battle Pass, plus new Infinity Mansion, Leaderboard and Tournament seasons.
  • Troy Flame is the new Infinity Mansion unit.
  • In Infinity Mansion, as many as 4 players can team up in Rooms 1-100.
  • Unit slots 5 and 6 are unlocked for everyone.
  • Challenges no longer require the story level.
  • Infinity Mansion no longer requires Story Mode.

Quality-of-life changes

The update log ends with a long list of smaller fixes. These are the ones you will notice most in a match:

  • A minimap, which flashes red when an enemy gets close to your base.
  • Faster waves: enemies spawn and move faster, so stages end sooner.
  • Debuffs such as Burn, Slow, Stun and Bleed show on enemies with their remaining time.
  • More units show their Passives, including the in-game upgrade panel.
  • A count of the enemies and bosses left in the match.
  • A Trait filter in the unit list.
  • Rerolling a unit’s Trait, Stat Potential or Curse no longer unequips it.
  • Challenges now have Matchmaking and a Start button, and active Challenges can be replayed.
  • A Vote to Lose option in the in-game Settings.

With slots 5 and 6 open to everyone and the story gates removed from Challenges and Infinity Mansion, new players can jump into Challenges and Infinity Mansion without finishing the story first.
