Sailor Piece Melee Specs Explained: Every Fighting Style and Unlock Cost

Where to find each melee Trainer NPC, the titles and materials you need, and how to equip the style you want.

Where to find each melee Trainer NPC, the titles and materials you need, and how to equip the style you want.

Melee specs are the close-range combat path in Sailor Piece, sitting alongside swords and Devil Fruits. Every account starts with the default Combat style, but the strong options come from boss drops, rare titles, and material turn-ins handed over to a named Trainer NPC on a specific island. Several of the best picks were added through the Sea 2 and King updates, so the full roster now spans early Shibuya Station buys to heavy endgame grinds.

Quick answer: To unlock a melee style, travel to the island where its Trainer NPC lives, collect the listed gems, cash, materials, and required title, then exchange them at that NPC. Equip the result from the Melee tab in your inventory.

All Sailor Piece fighting styles and how to unlock them

The table below lists each fighting style, what it brings to combat, and the exact requirements to claim it. Most styles are tied to a boss fight, so you will usually farm that boss for drops before the Trainer NPC will trade with you. Titles and race or clan requirements are gatekeepers, so check those first before stockpiling materials.

If you already hold the early style and meet the title and material checks, the upgrade is a straightforward exchange.

How to switch fighting styles in Sailor Piece

Open the inventory using the menu on the left side of your screen.
Move to the Melee tab. Every style you own appears here, including the default Combat.
Click the style you want and equip it. The selected style becomes active immediately, and its abilities bind to your melee keys. You can swap as often as you like once a style is unlocked.
How to Switch Fighting Styles in Sailor Piece

Best melee styles to prioritize

If you are still progressing, Limitless Sorcerer is the most practical mid-game entry point. It gives solid AoE damage and crowd control with requirements that are far easier than the endgame styles. From there, the priority shifts toward styles that scale into late content.

  • Strongest in History delivers wide AoE coverage and top-end scaling, which makes it the most dominant pick for clearing dungeon waves and large groups.
  • Moon Slayer trades some AoE width for raw burst, so boss fights end faster and damage numbers stay high.
  • King of Heroes (Gilgamesh) is the smoothest farming option, with consistent AoE that keeps dungeon runs quick and low-risk.
  • Spirit Warrior stands out for raw damage and has a lower barrier than most endgame styles, since it only needs the Empyrean Training questline on Blue Planet rather than endless boss drops.

Note: Several Sea 2 styles depend on world-boss farming with no pity system, so drops are pure RNG. Cosmic Being comes from the Cosmic Being world boss at the center of Punch Island, while Spirit Warrior bypasses that grind through its questline.

Farm fighting style materials faster

The biggest time sink is collecting boss drops and the required title, not the gems or cash. A few habits cut that grind down sharply.

  • Use the Boss Summoner on Boss Island to repeatedly summon the same boss back-to-back instead of waiting on natural spawns.
  • Run an AoE-heavy build so you clear the mobs that spawn alongside bosses quickly and lower the risk of being overwhelmed.
  • Server hop for bosses not tied to the Summoner. Switching servers resets spawn timers and often drops you into one that is already available.
  • Commit to one style at a time. Splitting materials across several styles leaves partial progress everywhere and nothing finished.

Every fighting style can also be blessed from B1 to B10 at the Blessing NPC on Shibuya Station, using the same materials and stat bonuses as sword blessings. Once you hit level 10,000, styles gain access to Spec Passives unlocked on Judgement Island, which is where most of your long-term damage growth comes from. Pick the style that fits your route, gather everything in one push, and equip it from the Melee tab before moving to the next target.
