Genshin Impact’s 6.7 update, branded Luna VIII, is the last patch before the long-awaited Snezhnaya region shows up in August 2026. It wraps the Nod-Krai cycle, adds the Fatui Harbinger Sandrone as a playable five-star, opens a new explorable area, and hands out a stack of free rewards including a character outfit and Primogems.
Quick answer: Version 6.7 Luna VIII releases globally on July 1, 2026 at 11:00 AM (UTC+8), right after Version 6.6’s second phase ends. You’ll know it’s live when the game prompts you to download the update after server maintenance finishes.
Release time: July 1, 2026 at 11:00 AM (UTC+8)

Like every major Genshin Impact version, 6.7 starts with roughly five hours of server downtime. The game is unplayable during this window, so plan around it if you want to log in the moment the patch goes live.
| Server | Maintenance window |
|---|---|
| North America (UTC-5) | June 30, 2026 · 6:00 PM – 11:00 PM |
| Europe (UTC+1) | July 1, 2026 · 12:00 AM – 5:00 AM |
| Asia (UTC+8) | July 1, 2026 · 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM |
| TW, HK, MO (UTC+8) | July 1, 2026 · 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM |
This timing follows HoYoverse’s standard six-week cadence, with each patch arriving on a Wednesday after the previous version’s second banner phase closes. It can shift if HoYoverse announces a new schedule, but the pattern has held steady for years.
Sandrone, banners, and the Frost Moon map
The headline addition is Sandrone, the Marionette Harbinger made up of Sandrone and Pulonia. She’s a five-star Cryo unit who wields a Claymore, and she’s been woven through the Nod-Krai Archon Quests leading into this patch.
Her banner runs in the first half of the version alongside a Citlali rerun. The second half brings back Raiden Shogun and introduces Columbina. There’s also a Lightrace Event Wish featuring Wriothesley, Yae Miko, Mizuki, Qiqi, and Cyno.
On the exploration side, 6.7 opens a new area called Frost Moon, with bonus rewards for finishing its exploration inside a limited time window.
| Content | Details |
|---|---|
| New character | Sandrone — five-star Cryo Claymore |
| Phase 1 banners | Sandrone and Citlali |
| Phase 2 banners | Raiden Shogun and Columbina |
| New map | Frost Moon, with timed exploration rewards |
| New outfits | Costumes for Citlali and Charlotte |
Free outfit and event rewards in Luna VIII
Three events anchor the patch. A new flagship event set in Fontaine stars Citlali and Charlotte, joined by a sniping event and a returning dance event. Completing the flagship event hands you Charlotte and her new outfit for free, on top of Primogems and upgrade materials.
Two character skins arrive with the update, one for Citlali and one for Charlotte. Charlotte’s is the freebie tied to the flagship event, so it’s worth clearing that questline before the version ends.
Luna VIII livestream and redemption codes
The 6.7 Special Program aired on June 18, 2026 at 8:00 AM EDT (12:00 PM UTC), a day earlier than the usual version livestream slot. It streamed on the official Genshin Impact Twitch channel first, with a YouTube replay posted about an hour after the broadcast wrapped.
These programs reliably drop three redemption codes worth 300 Primogems total, plus extras like Mystic Enhancement Ore, Hero’s Wit, and Mora. The codes expire fast, usually within 24 hours of the stream, so redeem them quickly through your in-game settings or the official redemption page.
Until 6.7 goes live, the current Lohen and Mavuika banners stay up through June 30, 2026. Once maintenance clears on July 1, the new download prompt confirms Luna VIII is ready to play.
