Galaxy Sprites in Fortnite: Locations, Rarities, and Extraction (Chapter 7 Season 3)

Where each of the 10 Galaxy Sprites spawns, what the 20% ammo buff does, and how to extract one so it stays in your collection.

Galaxy Sprites are the rarest companion variant in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3, and right now they are the hardest Sprites to track down on the island. Every standard Sprite except the Burnt Peanut has a Galaxy version, which gives you 10 cosmic-patterned variants to collect. There are no fixed spawn points. Each one favors a specific biome or loot container, so the fastest route is to target the right area and open as many chests as you can.

Quick answer: Open Sprite Chests in the biome tied to the Galaxy Sprite you want, then extract it using an Extraction Chest, a Portable Extractor, or a Victory Royale. The Sprite only joins your collection permanently once the extraction completes, so carry a Portable Extractor before you start hunting.

What a Galaxy Sprite does in Fortnite

Equipping a Galaxy Sprite gives you 20% more ammo from every pickup in the world. That bonus stacks on top of the Sprite’s base ability, so it never replaces what the companion already does. A Galaxy King Sprite, for example, still increases your pickaxe damage as it levels up while also handing you the extra ammo.

The ammo perk is the weakest of the special variants released so far. Ammo scarcity is rarely a problem in normal matches, so the buff seldom fires at a moment that matters. Compared with the Gummy variant’s 10% Sprite Dust bonus on extraction or the Gold variant’s stronger XP gains, the Galaxy tier is mostly about owning the rarest companions and the XP they add toward collection progress.

All 10 Galaxy Sprites, rarities, and where to find them

Each Galaxy Sprite inherits the base rarity of its standard version, so the elemental starters are the most realistic finds during a normal run while the Legendary and Mythic versions are locked behind high-tier vault chests. None of these have guaranteed spawns, so treat each location as a preferred zone rather than a fixed spot.

Galaxy Zero Point SpriteMythicHigh-tier Vault Sprite Chests, very rarely

Note: The Galaxy Zero Point Sprite is the rarest drop in the entire pool and only appears in high-tier Vault Sprite Chests. Do not waste runs searching open-world spawns for it, since you need keycard access to those vaults to have any chance at it.

How to boost your Galaxy Sprite odds

The drop rates are steep, so your best move is to maximize how many rolls you trigger per match and to land in the biome that matches the Sprite you want.

Play during Galaxy Day, which runs June 18 with a better chance of finding Galaxy Sprite variants. These boosted odds make it the most efficient window to hunt, so prioritize matches while the event is live.
Open Sprite Chests aggressively. They are the most consistent way to trigger these rare rolls, so plan a landing spot and a loot route that hits as many chests as possible in a single drop.
Drop into the biome tied to the Sprite you are chasing. Head to water for the Galaxy Water Sprite, forests for the Galaxy Earth Sprite, or cities for the Galaxy Fire Sprite, and wait for the night cycle if you want the Galaxy Ghost Sprite.
Do not skip AI bot loot. The Galaxy King Sprite can drop from defeated bots, which is an easy source most players overlook. For the Legendary and Mythic variants, farm keycards first so you can open the Vault Sprite Chests that hold the Galaxy Punk, Dream, and Zero Point Sprites.

How to keep a Galaxy Sprite permanently

Finding a Galaxy Sprite is not enough. It only unlocks for good once you extract it, which adds it to your collection and lets you re-equip it in future matches. There are three ways to extract: place it in an Extraction Chest, use a Portable Extractor, or win a Victory Royale.

You know it worked when the Sprite appears as unlocked in the Sprites tab in your lobby and you receive Sprite Dust. The Portable Extractor is the safest option because it sends your loot straight to the lobby without forcing a fight at a public Extraction Site, where you become a target the moment you pick up a Galaxy variant.

Two things will undo the run. Being eliminated or leaving the match makes you lose any Sprite you are carrying before extraction, and an equipped Sprite resets to Level 1 if you go down with it. Secure the extraction before chasing more fights.

If the drops refuse to cooperate, the community trades these cosmic variants through dedicated Discord servers, which is often the quickest way to complete the set. Epic is also expected to tune the spawn chances in the weeks ahead, so the grind should ease over time.
